I'm currently looking for a similar mod.
Can I ask, is it really worth it?
By how much did your top speed drop?
I have a 3.9 NA differential sitting in my garage, and i'm thinking of swapping it into my turbo supra but I don't know whether to look for a 4.3 or go with the 3.9 (or even stay 3.7)
Another common problem is grounding.
I had the problem when I just installed a new radio and forgot to ground it properly. As a result my fuel gauge worked on and off randomly.
Maybe your oilpump has gone bad.
That would answer your question why your dip stick gives a good reading.
I wouldn't drive the car anymore until I got it figured out.
Just my 2 eurocents :D
In addition to his post, also when your turbo is not good anymore (cracks in the wastegate, or bad actuator) it also helps to shim it to compensate for the wear of the wastegate.
Did you read your error codes yet?
Check http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/techtips.html on how to do that and figure out what the error codes mean.
I bet your TPS is broken, as my supra did almost the same thing apart from the hard starting. But almost dying-coming back to life-then die when...
just shield off the boost signal connctors to the gauge (there are 2 and you don't need them anymore).
(inside the gauge cluster ofcourse)
run a little wire between a + and the + from the volt meter.
you're done. When I also connected my - , my speedometer wasn't working anymore. I found out...
I bought one of these. Haven't installed it yet because of my complete rebuild, and the engine isn't even been to the machineshop yet, but it looks good and is made out of stainless steel. Nice firm parts used and all parts included to hook it up. I myself have really good expectations about it.
BHG. Some of the signs are:
- A lot of white smoke coming out of your exhaust.
- White stuff in your 710 filler cap (looks like mayonaise).
- Engine temperature getting very very high.
I'm sorry, I figured you did change something to make it work.
Thank you for your answer. :)
It seems however that the server (the bard server) is rejecting traffic from some (specific) ranges, because I can get all the way to the server before I get a time-out.
To me it looks like (when...
KICK!
I really can't access this forum from my house. A lot of people with thesame provider have this problem.
Can someone please look into this and re-enable the above ranges please?
I'm in thesame position as I pulled the engine to rebuild it and my motormounts were a wreck.
So i'm looking for semi-solids also. Total solids can be found, but I heard that without the damping of the rubber the car is not much fun to drive when cruising.
