Oh I agree 100% I know I was the cause of the bhg. I think deep down I just wanted it to happen so I'd finally have to finish puttin my mhg engine together.
Sometimes it's take something to break for me to get off my ass and finish something.
Yea I plan havin pretty much the same setup as Brad...
i never said i thought it was safe. i knew something was going to happen and i didnt really care.
if you read this retarded threads you'd see im gonna do it right with my good engine.
aint gonna be like yours but its a budget build.
The 46mm tial should serve me well.
Eventually I'll be controlling boost with the maft pro as well.
Gonna get one of those mini laptops so I can use it to log. I'm still gettin a hang of the maft pro, just put it in a couple days ago.
All I know is I'm determined to make 500rwhp this year.
Yea I'll be turning the boost down, the cheapo wastegate I'm using now isn't playing nice and won't like to go under 20psi on a high load. When I put the other engine in I'll be using my tial wg and I'll probably keep it at 16psi daily and maybe 20-21psi for track days when I can get some 110oct...
Since piggybacks fool the stock ecu by telling it theres either more or less air going into the engine. In doing so the ecu would use it's timing maps for x amount of air going into the engine, when in reality there's more air than it knows.
This is my understanding on that subject.
Ian I...
I couldn't tell you what any of the numbers were, I was keeping my eyes on the road and wideband.
I still haven't gotten the tunerpro to connect to the maft pro. Its a pain having to keep bringing the laptop inside to download files, then bringing it back out to test it. If AT&T got there act...
That's one of the reasons a piggyback is only good up till a certain point. There's a lot more than just a/f that needs to be monitored/adjusted the keep a high hp car running.
Always use 93 octane. I didn't hear any detonation, then again I'm half deaf so I prolly wouldn't. The car was perfectly fine up till that pull, I honestly think it was just the boost that did it.
I'm just gonna replace the felpro and retorque, this engines goin in another supe I got sitting...
Just got a bhg. Stock engine wit felpro and arp's. Only took 20psi on my MP t64 to do it lol. The good part is during the 3rd gear pull that blew it my a/f was sitting at 11.2 the whole time, finally got the maft pro tuned right. :)
i had a SAFCII hooked up before the maft pro, i had to solder the AFM signal wire back together cuz the maft pro installation instrustions say to just TAP all the wires. seems kinda weird to me, should i have left the wire cut and only connected the MAFT pro to the ECU side of that wire?
You could drill out the bottom of the adapter for the sensor, it could help with the flow around the sensor. The way it looks now it seems like the reading wouldn't be too accurate cuz the same coolant would be floating around in that little crevice... Know wat I mean?
