Both the "BRAKE" and the battery lights will come on at the same time if the alternator is going dead. I'm not quite sure how to get the battery light to come on by itself but replacing the alternator will definitely get rid of both of the lights, provided you did fill up the brake fluid...

By new alternator, do you mean remanufactured? Sometimes they give you a bad one. Just return it under warranty. And 8 and 6 volts are way too low. It should charge the battery at around 12-14. Actually it doesn't leak. It sounds great on the car. I've capped it off better since then. That was just a picture from the first test drive. Now it holds 8 psi all the way til redline. It held 10 psi the first test drive until my 3000 to TB coupler exploded. Then I put it back to stock boost.

It seems like its in the ignition itself. But try it without the timer for a while and see if it does it. If it still does it, I'd have my money on the ignition. My old N/A supra used to do that. If i sat there and did what you did, it would eventually start.
