Oh hell no. You still can't do crap about all of the other enrichments the stock ecu wants to add with your giant injectors. The car would run like crap.
Emanage is a decent piggyback but it has been outdated by the MAFTPro.
Anything over ~600 rwhp, a piggyback isn't going to cut it...
The sump is to facilitate installation of an external fuel pump. I've tried both picking up from the stock drainplug location and welding in a crudely baffled sump and the sump picks up 10 times better.
Don't waste your time or money on an Aeromotive, or any other external pump if you aren't going to use it the way the manufacturer specifies. It isn't going to work (or if it does it will expire shortly).
Also, my sump picks up just fine, no problems or extra work really.
You can make...
Be careful with the black smoke must be rich idea. I had a car here that would leave a big black cloud when you got on it. Put a wideband on it and it was pig rich on spoolup but leaned out to 12.9-13.0 once up on boost.
That price is ok, I've seen better.
How many miles (or kilometers if you prefer) are you hoping to get out of this 400 rwhp 3 liter engine?
edit- dammit, forgot about the currency exchange. Eh, actually, I've still seen better than that, lol.
I agreed with you for the most part. It just isn't a big deal. You'll blow something else up way before the piston and bore wear become an issue, this is an FI engine we are talking about.
OEM piston choice is a whole different ball of wax but, as an example that comes to mind, there are...
I think the stock shortblock would go ~1,000,000 miles if bore wear was the limiting factor. The bores in my original ~200,000 mile block looked genuinely untouched, cross hatch all the way around. IDK how drastic the accelerated bore wear would be with a set of JEs but, I'd gamble it shouldn't...
You don't need a gaping 50mm wastegate unless you are trying to run 5 psi on a GT28 or something.
I already know how a wastegate works (I've had my share of autochrome ones apart) so, I'm really not interested in taking apart a brand new piece to fix it, then take it apart again to fix it...
I should clarify my position. The Walbros have an acceptable failure rate when used in a single pump application. When you put two in the same tank, the failure rate skyrockets way past unacceptable IMO. The illusive "doing it right" putting the dual Walbros together is pie in the sky. They just...
It is $21.85 from Jeff Watson. It'll last ~10 years. The typical heater hose ghetto rig probably costs $1 and will last ~6 months since the oil will eat it. Auto parts stores don't normally carry oil rated hose that large. You could go out and get some -12 (or so, not sure that is the exact...
Hrm... $125 for a "Fischer Price my first wastegate" or $215 for a Tial. Tough choice there, especially when you are one stuck wastegate away from a new engine.
I haven't seen evidence that our stock ecu uses an adaptive timing curve like the 2JZGTE does. Anyway, it is a good way for Mk4 guys to blow up thier engines, resetting the ecu for more power.
A dyno would be really nice. A datalogging wideband and an empty road would suffice but brings up several sticky issues like crashing the car while tuning, speeding tickets etc.
Also, remember, the wideband is reading the collected average of all the cylinders. I wouldn't want my leanest...
My '90T hardtop 5 spd weighs 3580 w/o driver. My friends '89 targa T 5 spd hit 3800 even on the same scale. The 2JZ guys that were there were all in the 3300~3400 range, except for the gutted hardtop (~3100). I was surprised there was so little difference considering how much less "solid" the...
Well, I've seen 4 of them die so far and heard of several more, just from the local Supra owners here on the Island. Now you've heard too. :)

James, LMK if you'd like to swing by or something.
You want it richer that 12:1 for street duty and pump fuel. I shoot for 11.4:1. IMO, best safe power.
The shops around here get $100 an hour for dyno time. YMMV.
