You need to run the "Wastegate >" side directly to the wastegate. That boost signal coming out of the "Wastegate >" nipple is going to read lower than the real amount of boost because a manual boost controller "tells" the wastegate that it isn't at full pressure yet. This keeps the wastegate...
Wastegates
Exhaust gas from the engine push the blades on the hot side of the turbo, in turn making boost on the compressor (cold side). A wastegate plumbs in between the exhaust gas coming out of the engine and the exhaust gas pushing on the fins of the hot side. The wastegate gets it's...
Interesting how they kept the molding line design, just wider and part of the body instead of molding.
One of my pet peeves though: wheels that don't fill out the wide body.
I made a downpipe without a flex section that is joined to the turbo and then has a brace on the transmission down low; it takes the stress off the turbo to downpipe connection. Sorry about straying away from the original question.
I'm guessing it's an aluminum pipe kit? I wouldn't try to mig weld them (I'm assuming you have a mig); it's possible with aluminum wire, but damn hard. I've heard of people taking a file and scoring the pipe in rings (dragging the file around the pipe rather than along the pipe) so that the...
Is this when the car is running? Do you notice anything happening with the engine when it happens? Turbo / non turbo? Here is a schematic of the dash stuff on a 90 turbo: http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/mk3/manual.aspx?S=D&P=7 (more on the next page).
TSRM...
If I remember right, an 86 mm head gasket will work. But that is really preferable for when the block is bored over. I predict that you are going to get a lot of "it will work" type responses, but a stock sized head gasket might be a better choice if you can change your order.
7mgte or just the 7mge? For the turbo, Cooleeze makes a nice looking polished intake (some have mentioned that it is hard to get to fit). I don't know much off the top of my head for the 7mge. One of the popular options is to make your own from scratch or using some generic honda kit...
I tested the continuity / resistance to ground from each prong; they are isolated from ground, so it's just an inline resistor. I went ahead and wired up the plug and it works, just thought I'd post up the results for anyone that searches for this topic.
I made mine with a couple U bends, a magnaflow muffler, and a 10 foot pipe. I flanged it around where the stock cat is at and welded hangers in the stock locations. The down pipe section was a little more difficult than the rest, but it was basically a twisted "S" shape.
After the flange on...
Are you using the MAFT-Pro? If so, I'm sure others are going to ask you to post up your settings for it. Not too sure on the profec b part, never messed with those. What are some of your other mods? Sorry this isn't too much help, I just don't like seeing help needed threads have 0 replies :/.
The wires to my ECU water temp sensor plug have snapped off from the plug. I have an old hacked up wiring harness, but the ECU water temp plug was missing on it. I found another 2 prong plug that I modified (broke the clip part of it off) to fit on the sensor. It actually worked out pretty...
The timing light still works on cars with coil packs. So it sounds like the timing light is probably bad. Once you get a new one, see if you can get it to run nice by adjusting the CPS. If it is still running crappy, then take off the timing cover and check the belt/cam/crank alignment.
I...
Are you talking about a pressure gauge on the waste gate signal feed line directly from the turbo compressor? If anything, the pressure would be less at the manifold than at the turbo compressor. Air loses pressure when it is cooled down. I doubt it's very much of a loss though.
Tony - I tested the cps with an ohm meter and all the connections they said to test came out fine (170 when they were supposed to be 140-180). I couldn't see anything visibly wrong with the cps, no shaft / gear play at all.
I think there is something up with the timing belt. I'll have to just...
Are you talking about the rubber hoses that run to the turbo from the thermostat housing? I just went and got some from autozone when I had to replace them one time.
