id rather not discredit the shops that didnt know what they were doing, and the one who tried to cheat me out of my money has since gone out of buisness. but what part of denver?
my car has been to 3 shops for a richness problem it has at full boost. 2 had no clue what to do, and 1 just kept trying to cheat me out of my money. do any of you guys know trust worthy shops anywhere between southern springs and southern denver that know what they are doing with a 7m? i miss...
ok so today i changed the positive cable on my 87. pretty simple, put back, exactly where and what u pull off. i go to start the car and nothing happens. almost like the battery is dead, but it couldnt be because i started the car just fine when i went to buy the cable. could it be one of my...
well both safc's have been wired in twice. once by me, and once by revolutions performance. we tried 2 different ecu's, and even two different MAF sensors by using my friends 88 turbo, all with the same result, car barely wants to run with safc plugged in, but completely comes back to life with...
i used search but couldnt find anyone who seemed to have the same thing goin on. but i hooked my safc up in my car about 2 days ago. car ran fine before, after installing the MAF just didnt work. it was almost like while the safc was connected the MAF just didnt exist. idle dropped from 1000 to...
so i didnt really like the look of any of the trimless ones until i saw this one lol.
but i agree, needs a grey trim, if the trim is the same color as the body it just looks funny.
where can i find a site that sells a 1j with all that? also i guess i should ask my original question again, will a 1j bolt up to my r-154? will i only need the 1j flywheel now? tigerjapanese.com sells a 1j complete motor with no tranny for 690$
my current clutch holds 740 torque and 600 hp. the engine will sit at about 400-500 for a while till i decide if its enough power to have fun with, i see what bigaaron was saying in that i will also need a new IC and piping. this will be an expensive swap but i think itll be well worth it. would...
yea i already have the clutch and stuff, i have an 87 turbo, 5 speed but www.tigerjapanese.com sells a 2jzgtte with a 5speed manual.
Also, will i need a new exhaust system? i have a megan racing 3 inch downpipe, 3 inch test pipe, and an obx 3 inch turbo back exhaust.
if i dont need any new...
ah. ty joezee.
so after reading it it doesnt look like too much trouble for me to keep my r-154, since i read along the way that my diff and the tranny can hold what im looking to have (looking to have the car at about 750-800 whp)
so then just to make sure i read it correctly:
i have an...
ah, so would it be more worth it to just make the sacrifice and just go with the 2jz 5 speed tranny? it would come with the motor from tigerjapanese.com
tlo86 - that sounds awesome. id really like to see one in person to get a better feel on exactly how much needs to be done.
also would i need...
ive been kinda having a battle in my own mind on either building my 7m or switching to a 2j, i really want the power and reliability of a 2j, but just building my 7m would be about the same cost as the swap, but with 250 more horsepower. a big reason i want to keep my 7m tho, is my transmission...
these are some of the main reasons i want one. add to that i dont have to take off my intake to get to my damn spark wires xD and it makes the engine bay look much cleaner.
im talking to a local machine shop and going to take a I/M from an N/A in the junkyard and have him fix it up and reconstruct it and whatnot. 64$ an hour and he says itll only take 4-5 hours tops.
