I thought you originally were saying that you had a 2JZ-GE out of a 1993 Lexus and were swapping it into a MKIII Supra...because that's the point of this forum section. I've never touched a SC300 nor a MKIV Supra so I have no idea if they share the same plugs/harnesses.
I wouldn't call it a "mod" but rather a cheap alternative. Non-turbo is as basic as you can get. It will run fine on 7M-GE electronics and wiring. You will need to buy a bellhousing regardless of transmission because the 7M and 2JZ's have different bolt patterns as well as flywheels. What more...
My Mishimoto fit minus the fan shroud not sitting perfectly flush. I have a small gap between the radiator and shroud due to some welds sticking out for the mounting screws.
I wouldn't pay more than $650 for that shell. You'll want 1989-1992 gray plug 7M wiring for it. If you do a 2JZ-GTE swap, the wiring is far from plug-n-play but you'll still need your 7M dash plugs and C1 body plug to splice into the 2JZ harness.
There are zero factory 2JZ brackets that will fit into a MKIII. If you don't want to buy aftermarket, then find a set of JZA70 1JZ brackets to use instead.
You should be able to use your stock fuel line after removing the hardline for the 7M. Then banjo bolt it to the 1JZ's dampener.
The BIC brackets leave more to be desired as I experienced. I was told I received a bad batch as I had to drill the mount holes bigger. But I ended up using 20mm...
In order for you to bolt up the 7M's R-154 to the 1JZ, you need to purchase a R-154/1JZ bellhousing and a 1JZ flywheel. Then just use a 7M-GTE/R-154 driveshaft or just use the front half of it on your auto's rear shaft.
There are two versions of the HX-35; the older 8-blade compressor wheel with a divided T3 that pumps out 52lbs/min and the newer 7-blade compressor wheel with an undivided T3 footprint that flows 60lbs/min.
If you mean 400rwhp, then I would go larger than 440's as both holsets will get you...
^ THIS!!!!!!!!! If you disconnect/delete the knock sensor wire(s), the ECU will dump fuel and pull timing...not to mention you won't run right if you splice the wrong sensor wires in.
I noticed that too. Maybe they include it in the "timing accessories" :biglaugh:
You might as well go 2JZ for that price or spend half of what they want to mimic it with your own 7M.
Step 1: See what your wideband says
Step 2: Adjust fuel on your maft-pro till you're happy with what your wideband says.
Maft-Pro only will do AFR tracking (aka making sure it's at whatever AFR you want) at WOT. Everything else you need to tune/adjust in conjunction with the wideband as...
