    Early Vs Late 7M Blocks

Hey IJ, Do you have any photos of the front of the new "heavy" block? Did the new block come with the small convex brass core plug installed (the one behind the aluminum inner front timing cover?) Thanks

    ***Centralia M&G - Springtime is coming - May 22nd***

We are planning to roll over with Kenny and the rest of the KPR crew, or at least meet up in SeaTac area with everyone for the trip down I-5. Hey Kenny, you don't go through Crackima to get over there do you? If you, or anyone else, wanted to go by way of Vantage, we could meet at my place...

    New AEM FIC

I tried one, but was told by AEM that it would not work with our style injectors or ignition system, so it would have ended up being a very complex AFC-type setup. You would have to make some sort of adapter to make those components work. It would control boost and fuel in one, so that in itself...

Craigslist Car Scam - I am the new REAL owner

Congrats on the new Supra, it looks sweet. That rear xbrace is cool, too, I might have to copy that. I'd love to hear your bro's exhaust and see a few more pics of how he ran the pipes and cans. My buddy has had numerous homemade twinpipe setups, but none looked as nice as your friends. I'd...

    Roll Overs

VW Wabbits woll over weally easy! Trees will stop them though! I tried it once a long time ago. I wear seatbelts now. And drive Supras. Lessons learned.

    R154 experts needed

They'll also sell you beefed-up parts if you want to do it yourself to save a few bucks and learn your tranny inside-and-out in the process.

For anybody using a fields/autosport harness

Glad to hear it worked. Does yours look like the pics? If not, how did you get yours to fit?

Crank Pulley Key butchered - common problem?

Wow, I had no idea that it was so common. What seems to be the main culprit? Undertightened pulley bolts? Modified motors revving too fast for all the belt drives to keep up? Inherent design flaw of the multiple accessory belt system - long pulley with large leverage forces from accessory...

Heat Shield Fit Over Lipp Boss Turbo?

Well, it just so happens I am in the process of installing one, so lets find out... The turbo has one stud, the elbow has another, so two out of three are there. One hole in the heat sheild will have to be redrilled/enlarged, as it doesn't quite line up exactly. The heat sheild covers...

    R154 experts needed

If you want to do it yourself, you'll need access to a good press and some bearing pullers/splitters. You might not need one if you're just chasing down a bent shift fork, but if you want to replace synchros or bearings, a good press is a must. You'll also want to have the TSRM handy...

    Cams for a 500 hp MK3 Turbo

Yep. Toda and HKS cams are all but extinct. I'm running BC's, but haven't had them very long, so can't comment on durability. They do flow better in upper rpms, but lose a little tq down low. And some folks don't like the lumpy idle, plus they mess with the ecu and afr at idle, so extra...

Crank Pulley Key butchered - common problem?

Anyone else ever have this problem? I've had two motors eat their cranks away with the harmonic balancer pulley/key. The harmonic ballancer (crank pulley) was wobbling around, back and forth, up and down, sounding like a main bearing knock. The bolt was fully tightened, it took a HUGE...

For anybody using a fields/autosport harness

Here it is, tucked up between the ECU and ABS computers. It is a tight fit, but glovebox upper (inner) cover bolts on and glovebox itself opens and closes without any interference.

Head RE+RE, tell me if I'm missing something

I wouldn't think so. Most MHG's are sold in the standard 86mm, and so long as everything is flat, clean, smooth, and tight, all should work the same. Maybe the previous owner didn't retorque? Maybe he didn't drill out the front MHG rivet? Maybe it ran lean? Many possibilities, but not enough...

    Oil Pan Removal?

Which is easiest to remove later, right stuff, fipg, or 3bond? The shop that did my last motor used permatex right stuff and had a hell of a time getting the pan off. I used FIPG and the pan came off easily. The fipg also came off the pan and block pretty easily too. Neither leaked a drop...

Code 52, knock sensors, brand new OEM wiring harness

Well, it was the rear knock sensor. Maybe it was dropped sometime between builds, who knows. Replaced it w/another new one and cel gone for two days and 200 miles now. As I suspected, wiring was not my problem. Smart ECU, stupid owner. Now thats a common Supra problem!

For anybody using a fields/autosport harness

It is a tight fit, but I also squeezed it up at a funny angle and got it to work, keeping everything, all brackets and original mounts, in place. Glovebox opens and closes without any interference. I'll post pics later, the car is getting an alignment right now.

Code 52, knock sensors, brand new OEM wiring harness

Do you mean an open circuit from a loose or disconnected wire? As I understand it, the sensor sends a small, variable voltage signal based on vibrations from the motor stimulating a piezoelectric element in the sensor. So any inturruption of this signal, or a signal with a specific frequency...
