    weekly car debate thread.

Kind of a hard question te72 because many older cars pre 1980 were actually very large,Take the old Mercedes 220 for example. The size of the vehicle seems to match the current styling trends of each era, as some of there current model line is quite small. But what i'm suggesting is nothing more...

190e for me, yes the stock motor is a bit slow but the handling is brilliant. Bugger the 2jz my Mercedes engine is extremely well built just doesn't have the aftermarket demand like the 2jz does. How about a twin turbo m119 though.? fairly common motor but with huge potential, as Mercedes rivals...

Subaru anyday..Just look at the price for spare parts and rebuild kits compared to the Mitsubishi. Besides my wife has a Subaru and i've seen the punishment its has copped and still runs sweet so i'm biased.lol

Jeff's 1992 Toyota Hilux Xtra Cab Project (56K Death)

Yeah good choice, the 7mgte breaks a lot of stuff which then becomes a nightmare. I've seen 5mge Toyotas that went well enough so the 3.4 litre should be a great choice. I think a simple 7mge would also work well with the stock transmission, although i'd like to try a built 7mgte with a built...

Exactly! I feel once you work on your car, it changes from just a vehicle for transportation and becomes something more.

Guys let me paint a picture, it's a warm Aussie day and i'm quite intoxicated.(thank you Wild Turkey) My car had a small oil leak so i decided to pull it apart and refit all new gaskets although the original ones all looked like new except for the one causing the problem.I got a little carried...

Do you think this person knows what they have?

yep most parts are there, even the 3000 pipe looks to be the original one. The rarest part yet for a Turbo-a is the factory turbo intake which appears to still be there. Also spotted the map sensor on the firewall if you squint really hard .lol. Looks like it needs a bit of work but the price is...

Hi guys, just stumbling around Ebay and found this Supra add that caught my eye.Seems the owner has no idea what they actually own and would be a bargain for anyone living in the near vicinity. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120748331996 The wheels are a crime to all...

You might be a 1J owner if.....

Your last car was a civic and you weren't quite sure you were manly enough for a 7m. so you went for the softer option.
