my friends evo at ~25 pounds and my mkiii at 10 pounds are pretty much even from 1st through 4th. in 5th gear i begin to slowely overtake.
with 15 pounds on a 57 trim ill blow right by him!
the sweep is how the gauge reads. a full sweep would mean the needle points 360 degrees around the gauge. for instance, the speedometer on our cars (and most if not all others..) is a full sweep guage. the stock boost gauge, is not a full sweep gauge. i dont know exactly how many degrees it...
no itll come with its own sender. there are many ways to hook up the extra sender.
you could possibly find an appropriate sized BSP fitting to go into the stock OP sender port and Y off where you can install the stock sender, then the aftermarket sender for your gauge.
thats just one...
ohhhh i gotchya. :)
its the best way to check for leaks. should always be done after dropping in a new motor and such.
some leaks are very minute and leak right onto the exhaust manifold, burn up and would never be spotted otherwise.
actually, 20psi (i assume youre reffering to boost pressure?) shouldnt be any different than stock boost in regards to the status of coolant leaks.
the cooling system should generally be under .9 bar of pressure at all times after the car has warmed up. more boost dosnt equal more pressure...
FIRST thing is first.
pressure test the cooling system. ive said this in enough threads now that it should be easily found in searches.
PRESSURE TEST THE COOLING SYSTEM.
if you had said the coolant was coming out of the over flow after pushing it hard, id jump on the BHG bandwagon also. but...
yeah. completely stock i did a 14.9. with only minimal mods and 10 pounds of boost i was able to do 13.7. next time around im shooting for 12s.
do a compression test.
