hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like you could catch your fingernail on those machine marks. i had a block that looked just like that with a MHG that didnt seal up.

agreed. the 2jz makes more power in stock trim, is newer, and fits in the mkiii. for those reasons alone id go with the 2jz.
