why will his idle be rough? it should idle fine.
really though the FIRSt thing you should do is the fuel system, and get a wideband.
at the VERY LEAST replace your 20 year old fuel pump.
doing it from the top is easier to me also but you can do it from the bottom. i just dont like when people say something like "you CANT do it this way" when it is simply not true.
shaeff you actually have one? show me pictures! please
i mean pictures of it installed or at least test fitted. ive seen the pictures on the docs site but ive never seen on actually installed.
with extensions and a ujoint. you dont have to remove anything other than the upper IC pipe and the turbos air intake hose (the accordion hose thats attached to the AFM/airfilter.)
eh id confirm that its bad before you just go replacing it for no reason.
im all for replacing old WEAR ITEMS regularly however this thing is not a wear item and should only be replaced when it fails. otherwise youre just throwing away your money.
if you think yours is bad, see the TSRM...
set it within the stock range with the vacuum line off. adjust inside that range until you get a nice idle.
search on SF for Vf tuning.
actually i believe i posted a link to the article i have in mind in the tech section. so search here too :)
while ive seen a few turbos that had cracks like that that didnt seem to have an effect on turbo spool and overall boost pressure, i think over time those will only get worse and it WILL have an effect on performance.
it depends if the crack goes all the way through or not.
it has a flange.
if you decide to trade with me or not, if youre looking for something that sounds better than any mkiv(IMNSHO) and is reasonably loud (not annoying) id highly recommend going with the same set up i have.
they are both the same so it dosnt matter.
if i were you id take out the cams from the head youre using and inspect the journals. it might still be good.
