fluoroelastomer coating
thats a fancy word! thats the suede/wetsuit feeling on a new mhg eh?
i was told by Reg to go for 25-30 RA for the gaskets. ever done lapping by hand? not a ton of fun. i had wanted to get a surface profilometer to test RA until i found out how much they were...
yep thats what i was gonna say, driftmotion. i think they are having a special on them right now.
the neat thing about having a high rep is it doesnt show that i edit anything so i can pretend to be all smart lol
hey you arent too far away!
if you only knew all the crap he has gone thru w/ clutches youd understand why he doesnt want to go thru it again.
also, was just curious if the tranny cable helped out yours any or not.
and another thing, i watched your dyno vid. when you dyno an auto it...
lol i like that pic at the stoplight. i saw you bail and thought- what in the world is she doing!? then saw you take some pics and run and jump back in the supra daisy duke style when the light turned green.
wait a min- where did that go? did you delete the post?
i had bumped up base fuel pressure some, so i knew it was gonna be a little rich til i got it tuned. but the smoke was from the first dyno run only. the operator hit the dyno brake and it loaded up on fuel which caused the cloud of smoke. he heard the wg open and thought something was wrong...
jay-
as mentioned, that cable really effects how the transmission performs. thats what was adjusted on matt's car in the parking lot of royal garden.
here is a pic of where the crimp should be, in case you didnt catch that yesterday
btw, the pic is compliments of your buddy boost lee ;)
idea!
since it was on a trailer we are gonna tow it to matt's house and have a dyno day there w/ a pig roast and a bonfire. how bout it matt ;)
since the weather is getting cooler it will probably be spring before we have another meet. however, a few of us local guys are talking about...
good job brent! you'll get there im sure. one of these days you are gonna have a dyno session with zero problems i just know it!
congrats mike- sounds like you got the car running strong again.
chris- yeah i wish the dyno would have gone a little but it was still fun. between owning the rollers then owning the clutch it was an experience thats for sure. we will get it sorted and be back even better next time.
the meet was just yesterday and i'm already excited about the next one!
i had an awesome time!
thanks to all the guys that made it out! i think the dyno went really well too. thanks to all the guys that dyno'd, i was starting to worry that we would only have a couple people.
too bad we couldnt get chris's car sorted. it will be back!
i really hope more than 3 people dyno. i did a lot of work to get it set up and steve did a follow thru for me.
please dont let the nissan guys show us up at our own meet!
hope everyone has a good trip, and see everyone tomorrow!
no it will not screw right in. the autometer is a 1/8 npt and our threads are 1/8 bspt. lucky for you, they make an adapter! autometer #2269.
as far as the hard pipes, it will help some. the old rubber ones like to swell under boost. prob not any noticeable hp gains tho, maybe a bit...
ok guys- we gotta have a good showing at the dyno!
since we are gonna be there w/ the turbo nissan group we gotta show them whats up! we now have enough cars to get 3 runs WITH wideband for $50! yes, $50! we gotta outshine those nissan guys! after all, this is OUR meet!
looking forward...
several people have asked how this is done. after talking to some people i had found out the ford tps uses the same voltages as our stock tps. this opens up a whole new world of bigger, inexpensive and readily available throttle bodies for our car. this would mostly apply to those who are...
see jeff you are already confused. what steve meant was give you one as in allow my girlfriend. she is a dancer at the platinum club. people just get confused since she is my girlfriend and my sister.
jay-
it depends on the turbo. yours has a bigger turbine side and will hold more torque thru the powerband and make peak later where a ct will usually peak early and fall off.
good numbers on the dyno! a pic would def tell if its upgraded or not
