How big of a tire on a 16" wheel?

Have you ever seen a stock MKIV wheel on a MKIII? This is what I use to base all of my measurements and fitment characteristics. The MKIV rear is 17x9.5 +50, and sits pretty decently flush on the car. Picture: 285/40/17 on MKIV wheels...

Laser wheels? the ones that look like MKII wheels only 5-spoke? That would be awesome. I'm pretty sure the bolt pattern is the same, but I'm not sure about the offset. I also think they're only 15" max, so they won't clear the front brakes.

My friend pulled the 7M and put the 1JZ into his car in one day. But he does it for a living. I can do it in a weekend if everything goes to plan. I've gotten pulling the motor down to about 3 hours, if I'm keeping the harness connected to the body. Putting it in takes a little longer.

What the hell is with that pipe in the turbo? Nice turbo choice BTW. Works oh SO well with the 2JZ.

Can you rebuild a journal bearing center cartridge with ball bearings? If not, how difficult is it to swap over say my GT40-88 to a ball bearing?
