    2jz hp upgrade questions

i wouldn't push it to much past 800-850.. at those levels the tune is the key (standalone with a good tuner) to block longevity.

    we need this

I bet 98% of the cars on this board do not need this. If you're spinning the tires sub 450whp in 1st and 2nd gear get better tires. When you're making that much power a standalone is a good idea and some have boost control based on that built in (VS speed or gear)

Just that information. Not sure what other testing is needed. Another ecu ran fine in the car.

    Losing boost at 6400rpm. Help!

toyotas specs are .008-.012 for the exhaust and .006-.010 for the intakes. I would adjust them so they're within those specs.

    differnce between 2jzs?

supra 2jzs are dry sump, forged internals, along with a super alloy block thats extremely strong but yet weights only 14 lbs. They also have bigger turbos (capable of near 1000whp with just 14 psi of boost and spool at 3000rpms). but really the difference between a jdm supra 2jz and an...

    2jz hp upgrade questions

They crank the boost! Itll cost similar probably. The 2jz isn't cheap by anymeans, Figure for a near stock swap (twin turbo etc) you're looking at ~5k, then add the goodies on top.

    1jz Standalone Engine Management

I've seen a 1jz ecu fail like that. Will only rev to 2000 rpms, will not give any codes (solid CEL). Tried replaceing leaking caps etc, nothing fix it.

    Losing boost at 6400rpm. Help!

yea but most of the time (except that small point where they overlap) one side will be closed where the other is open. So even if the intake valve is open itll just fill the Cyl but not run into the exhaust since the valves are closed (exhaust valves). At TDC of the exhaust stroke going into the...

    Good or bad Idea..

yea, the 'small core' cams that zazzan had made are really 264 cams. They're pretty mild on the lift so the work with the stock springs no problems (I wouldn't go above 7600-7800 rpm though)

call them and talk to them, they should be able to answer your questions. remember, it may be plug and play, but is no where near plug and boost.

    Losing boost at 6400rpm. Help!

I'm not exactly sure what you mean? One set of intake vavles should never be opened all the time durring a revolution.

    Losing boost at 6400rpm. Help!

Yea turn the crank. There is valve overlap (both intake and exhaust valves will be open at the same time) so it might be leaking by that, but by turning the crank itll close one set of valves. Now the air will leak out, it wont be a 100% seal and the pressure will bleed out slowly (through...

    1jz Standalone Engine Management

AEM EMS is fine for a daily driver. I daily drove my 1jz and 2jz with the mkiv AEM EMS, and now daily driving my Celica with the aem ems in it. You just have to have a good tune. A 50k ems will drive like ass if the tune sucks. Stinger is a decent unit and is pretty affordable. Many people on...

    Boost cut?? or Fuel Cut?

What boost is it hitting? The stock Aristo ecu boostcut/fuel cut (same thing) is at ~ 14 psi. A free flowing exhaust will cause the twins to creep there. Easy way to see, if the check engine light comes on when it does it its boost cut, you will probably have a code 34 too (iirc)
