I have never heard that! I'm not sure which stroke I'm on either. I was actually wondering about that as I stuffed rope. I have applied quite a bit of force to it already now, with no luck. What will I do if I round these bolts off and can't et them out. I'm at the end of my rope now. I'd rather...
I guess I gotta update the thread. I am in the middle of a clutch swap. Last Thursday night, I pulled the tranny, and found that my flywheel was burnt to hell and back, and the ARP bolts were in with a lock tight. I had to go buy a 12 point socket to even try to turn them. I tried to hold the...
Noah89T had a neighbor of his come over and offer some parts off the car he used to own. He called me and several other friends once he saw the parts. That fan shroud looks good in my car now, and was pretty cheap. You should call, and see if he really knows what he is talking about...
Art, you're getting the new Suprasport FFIM? I will definitely be coming over to see that! I can help you with the 550's and SAFC if you want to hold off and save the money. Problem is, my tranny is out, and new clutch going in this weekend. Next weekend I have to work.
Congrats on the new J.O.B.! I once was laid off in the same situation. I got recruited (quit a good job to go there too) to a job, where the entire crew was 50+ with many about to retire. As soon as jobs on the schedule dropped, they let me and the other youngest guy (age and time on job) go...
Welcome to the site!
You should start a build thread on the car, and you can all the questions you want in there. You can voice your plans with the car, and get ideas from those who post. They can also stop you if they see you going wrong. This way, you don't post questions in the general area...
Be sure that the cam gears are installed correctly as well. There is a dowel pin between them. Make sure it is in the center hole of the 3 possible holes on the cams and the gears. Then line up your marks, and the cams should be in time
You will need both the mounts and brackets if you need to change them. I believe (somebody correct me) that the harnesses changed at the same time as the mounts. One thing to note though, if your car came originally with square mounts, you can't just swap in the round ones and vice versa. Also...
Thanks for the info Dave. I am currently in the middle of a clutch job, so the tranny is out right now (motor still in car). I attempted to torque it last night, and got 170 on it while holding a flywheel bolt. My ARP flywheel bolts are in with loctite of some sort on them. I broke the crank...
Wow! So you basically paid a grand for a stock pulley? I hate to put it that way, BUT./
At least it is a new one, and hopefully your troubles have been completely fixed.
All of my DM purchases have been pretty well packed. As someone that does shipping for a living, I am amazed at how many people doing shipping have no idea what they are doing.
Parts look very nice though. Have you decided yet what you are going to do about you car situation?
