It likely wont effect the weight a whole lot but it looks ugly as sin; imo anyway.

Possibly it was a bare bones hardtop vs a loaded targa turbo with the added weight from the bracing and other luxuries. More likely that it was an 86 mk2 though and not an 86.5 mk3 though.
