Fantastic, finally an answer! Although I'm not sure I really know what "Reading by Techtom" is supposed to mean. Never heard of shift-JIS before either, I guess I lead a sheltered life.
Good point Jon, the 7433 would not have the interchip communication. That processor would seem overkill for the A/T though? Also note the SDIP42 package for what looks to be the knock sensor MCU.
The data just before the interrupt table appears to be Kanji unicode. No one has been able to figure out what it means though. Techtom adds it to all their ROMs. Check out post #218 for more details.
The stock system is very reliable, it has no thermostat to fail, and increases oil cooling proportional to rpm. Its weakness is it dumps oil through the cooler during warmup.
On what basis do we know that "the stock cooler really doesn't work well".
Does someone care to post up oil temps with and without the oil cooler under various scenarios?

Well, I desolder the chips and plug them into a reader board. I sold all the reader boards I had made, but one was available recently (see post 268). In the 7M, there is a diagnostic mode that will dump the ROM out the serial port, but I have not pursued trying to do that. It involves...
Well, just about all new cars use an electric fan these days, so what's happened? First, alternator efficiency is up from 50-60% 20 years ago to >80% today. Capacity is up too, a typical new car will have a 160 to 180 amp alternator as a minimum, that's nearly double the Supra, and it will...
The bit scrambling order of the address bits varies from vendor to vendor. This allowed Techtom to maintain some control of their vendors back in the day.

Jumper FP to B+ in the diagnostic block to check pump operation.
Are you sure you weren't hearing the power antenna. The pump only runs when the engine is rotating in my experience.
The relay is needed if you wish to retain either the starter alarm interlock or the clutch sw interlock. Both the alarm and the clutch switch are not designed to handle the high current from the starter motor solenoid, which is why that relay exists.
The famous relay mod is just a hack to fix...
The first thing I would do is confirm that there is 12V at the ECU BAT and IGSW pins with the key on. Your symptoms are consistent with no power to the ECU.
