    3P's TCCS Disassembly/Analysis

The ignition table is in degrees BTDC. The load units are volumetric efficiency in percent. 100% equals fuel cut on a stock ECU. Since the table only goes to 88%, the remaining 12% just uses the nearest edge value. For people using a LEX AFM, this map need to be compressed by ~25% to maintain...

    3P's TCCS Disassembly/Analysis

I see that the minimum idle timing goes from 16deg to 20 deg when AC is on. I also see that there are two idle speed target values, depending on whether the AC is on or not. I don't understand the idle speed code very well, so can't say much more than that.

    Carrier bearing or 1-piece driveshaft?

From an engineering perspective, the only reason to go one-piece is cost. All other factors favor the two-piece.

    3P's TCCS Disassembly/Analysis

Here you can see the correction values for 4 of the 6 cylinders (icy1, icy2 icy3 icy4) and also the deglitched crosscount input (bit6 of pcdg). You can see that when the cross count happens (yellow highlight) the cylx variables come alive to stabilize the idle, then they simmer down after a...

The Luxocruiser 3650 lb sled thread

Nice. I need to get mine out of the box and into the car. Does your Profec B tell you the AFM frequency? I am trying to get a better idea of how much slower the Lex AFM reads compared to the stock. Everyone says 25%, but I haven't seen any data to back it up.

    Ignition Timing

Its about 26 deg for load > 88% from 3000 to 5600 rpm then it drop to 21 degrees above that. All the 7MGTE ECUs have a turbo indicator light (TIL) output that is not connected to anything. I believe in some markets the TIL light was added to the dashboard. Anyway, that light comes on for...

    Ignition Timing

Here is the stock timing, taken right out of the ECU code. You're welcome. :icon_bigg http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?73379-3P-s-TCCS-Disassembly-Analysis&p=1712465&viewfull=1#post1712465

    3P's TCCS Disassembly/Analysis

I would think the idle rpm stabilization code that I did find would pretty much do the same thing. Its just looking for idle speed variation and making corrections to timing to compensate. Its definitely fast enough to correct for cross-counting, since its making change to the timing for the...

    3P's TCCS Disassembly/Analysis

You're the second person to ask that! I know the docs say that it does that, but I cannot see it in the code. I am wondering if they didn't implement it with the ISCV instead. When I get to figuring out the idle code things should become clearer.

    3P's TCCS Disassembly/Analysis

The ignition timing is pretty much understood now. I've been looking specifically at the 91-92 7MGTE A/T ECU, so these timing numbers may not match exactly for the M/T, but this is from the last firmware release for the 7M so should reflect Toyota's best data. The timing is pulled from a table...

adjusting the tps how do you know its in the right place

If its hooked up and your getting a code 71 then it is probably indicating a real EGR failure. Try this test Start with test 6. http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=EC&P=17

adjusting the tps how do you know its in the right place

WHy not hook it back up. It doesn't hurt performance, and lowers EGT and detonation risk at mid load.

71 is the EGR temp sensor. You must have a California spec car. Its not going away by itself.

    Fuel cut? Misfire?

I'll retract my statement. It sounds like you made a good faith effort to grab the codes and just didn't get any, which is weird. The good news is that it was a boost leak and you solved the problem.

adjusting the tps how do you know its in the right place

neutral-start-switch. If an automatic is not in park or neutral, you will get a code 51. If the switch is faulty, you can get this as well. Other causes of code 51 are the A/C on, and the TPS IDL switch not adjusted properly.

    Fuel cut? Misfire?

Its a shame it took 57 posts to find out you have a code 34, cause that would have saved everyone a lot of guessing. I suspect your next post will be that the problem is solved after fixing the leaks. Most run of the mill meters cannot accurately measure small resistances like 0.5 ohms, so...

ISCV confirmed dead, buy new or used?

By the way, the ECU updates the stepper every 4 ms, so Figgie is right that it is fast, but 4 steps/s is on the low side, its more like 250 steps/s

    Fuel cut? Misfire?

As was noted earlier, your A/F meter reads oxygen. An ignition misfire will cause it read lean, because the unburned charge contains a bunch of oxygen. To diagnose a lean condition, you need to hook up a 4 gas analyzer to your exhaust, which I doubt you have. Rather than swap parts, get the...
