Near identical damage to what mine looked like when it was hit in my parking lot, except at least buddy who did mine didn't/couldn't run because we worked with me. The amount they gave the body shop for the repairs was around 2350 Canadian. Might be a little more for you because it looks like it...

Is it possible to convert a pre89 over to it? Or is it not worth all the hassle?

Reading through the post not much at all is mentioned about the shocks effecting the sway bar choice? Is that an absolute no correlation or do they just not effect the choice all that much?

RR's down pipe for the GB was 515, not sure what George is currently selling them for, the BIC unit with the same options as the RR pipe is 641. Also RR was selling a standard 3" DP for 165 with a flex section, not sure what they're selling for now.

Raptor Racing also makes a very high quality DDP, it comes ceramic coated, rerouted, and has a flex pipe. I beleive it may also be stainless as opposed to the mild steel of the bic pipe but I could be wrong.
