^ Yep that is exactly why I have so many haha, really two are mine a turbo and non turbo dd, then my wife has a turbo and a non turbo, but her non turbo is gonna get parted out soon because of rod knock, and we have 7 cars now lol.
I checked both my 89s and a friends, 87 and all 3 have a fuseable link wire there, its not a hole like that. It runs from the smaller wire on batt+ across to that fuseable link wire, then it goes to god only knows where, I think am2. I just had to replace the fuseable link on my friends 87 so...
Your best bet IMHO is to go with the stock gasket and arps. I know a lot of people running stock head gaskets with arps and they have a lot of hp 500+ on smaller motors lots of boost. The best thing you can do is get a precision machinist straight edge and check the block and head. Clean both...
Actually the best shops I have found for machine work, both in price and quality are boat motor machine shops. Now that requires that you be near a large enough lake that you will have plenty of places to go. But if you think about what a boat motor goes through you can understand the quality...
Do you have the values for what you system is running ie what is the high and low pressures when at idle and when at 3000 free rev with ac on. You want around 30-50 on the low side and 230-270 on the high side this will vary with engine rev. At idle ur looking on the high end of the low side...
I have pulled all the ic piping off and checked for oil, not even residue, same for intake took all of intake apart and turbo and checked for oil. Even the pcv system had no oil going into the 3000 pipe. The oil level stays the same, it has not dropped a bit and there are no leaks.
Hehe just dont let this happen unless you have the money. Btw we were swapping around the tail lights. Also what makes this picture worse is you cannot see the one in the right bay of my shop. Also this is my shop behind my house.
Actually if you go to an automotive paint store you can get a pint of good quality paint for $30-$40, Then you can use an airbrush to paint it. You can even use a cheep air brush to do it, they work good if you are only using them a few times, after a few uses they are screwed. Or they have...
Wow never seen them like that before, they already have a shaved top so you dont have to do it yourself. Most people just get the dome top 194 replacements and they end up not lighting up evenly. I did the same but shaved the tops to make them flat.
If it is rod bearings then your in for some money, but usually rod bearings get louder as rpm increases it normally wont go away at higher levels. If it is shims, you will want to get a good micrometer, and I dont mean a digital mic there not very accurate if you are gonna do it yourself. If...
I was actually making a full list of where all the bolts and everything went add showing what size and all goes where, but after 2 hours and I still didnt have the head off yet I decided screw the pictures and just go the car done. But as for me I just put them all on a magnet tray, but then...
Rtv is great. Dont jbweld or it will never come off and may leak. You might be able to find some oil drain plug gaskets that will fit too. If you need to go to a shop and have someone with a good impact wrench get them off. A normal one most people buy for $100 dosent have much torque, but...
Alright so I am at wits end here, I cant really think of anything else that could be doing this, but here is the problem.
As noted the car smokes and I mean smokes a lot. If you have ever done a fuel induction service and didnt have the car revved up enough and the cleaner puddled in the...
^ yea for the targa brace that is what was gonna do. I would usually take it off and put it in the back seat with the front touching the trans tunnel and the back just resting on the seat. Worked well and I did have a piece of foam for the front to sit on so it wouldnt cause damage. But I had...
Just so you know the boost sensor wiring is part of the body harness it comes out of the hole in the fender near the power booster. I dont think the na has the wire though if it does its taped to the harness inside of the fender.
Now for the dash harness that part of the boost sensor wire is...
Well I have gotten back to getting my interior done. The drivers seat is all that is left as for the seats and all. Next I want to go through and put a sound system in the car. I have not seen too many mk3 setups in the rear for audio if anyone has some pictures it would be appreciated. My...
