    moving to NC...

NC State FTW! I know I'm a bit biased since I go there but I like State more than UNCC and a lot of my friends go to UNCC. What do you plan on studying? Raleigh is definitely more active in the car department, and I usually see less riced out cars up here compared to Charlotte. I lived in...

Is there a trick to pulling the timing belt gear

Both mine were a bit tough but some strategic pulling while shaking it side to side, up and down, and every which way eventually loosened it. I didn't want to pry it or anything but if you've got the engine in a secure position you can wiggle the pulley a good bit with your hands :)

Is there a trick to pulling the timing belt gear

It should but 20 years of being stuck on there can make it a bit hard to slip off :(

Can you solve my boost mystery?

change your hoses, I had this same problem and tested all sorts of things and almost ported the wastegate hole before I noticed I had a tiny crack in the WG vacuum hose. Like so small I didn't notice it putting it on about 4 times until I used a bicycle pump to pressurize it and felt air coming out.

    BOV setup

I have a stocker and a SSQV on my IC pipes too and it works just fine. I've been meaning to plug off the stock one but the car hasn't run in such a long time I have other priorities. There weren't any problems doing it though, and I can't think of anything that would go wrong... Both bovs would...

    Calculators & Math - FML

Actually you can get a good general idea of graphs just by remember simple rules like transformations. Flips and shifts left and right and all that. You can just remember the basic graph of each type of function and you'll be able to tell what it looks like by remembering how to shift and flip...

    I've started my own business

Very nice! There are a couple of mobile mechanics in my area and they seem to be pretty successful. The website is nice too, the only thing is I get a sort of unrefined feel from it. Like it doesn't really look as professional, it sort of looks like someone's personal homepage or something. I...

    Is this a scam?

Supras were produced til 98 here. I think they went to 01 in Japan. I don't know about how many jade ones they made but it is a pretty rare color and the price looks ok for an all-original car provided the mileage is pretty low.

    7mgte rebuild and upgrades...........again

Yeah, really cheap. Are you using a MHG? Might want to check if the head will be surfaced to an acceptable RA. I broke an adaptor taking off a crank bolt too :( 3 ratchets has to be a record though, buying a breaker bar was a good move.

    rod bearing = poop

big end of the rod wasn't round. If the bearing's squashed a good amount you might have the same problem

    rod bearing = poop

Squashed bearing? I'd at the very least mic the crank journal from various angles to make sure it's round, and if it is, polish it. I had this same experience a while back and a polish repair didn't work for me.
