Is your seat wet? Mine probably is...
But that doesn't matter cause it's not getting driven. It's actually lucky to even have seats in it right now. :D Oh well, it's getting paint soon and new targa seals and then this whole thing will be history.

My trans sounds like a very tiny wheat grinder in neutral at idle and hums a bit in 1st and 2nd. It recently started popping out of 1st gear on occasion. Engine and trans are out, and the trans is getting rebuilt or replaced while it out. It drove fine, but I won't put it back in.
Working on the engine in the garage and on a stand is a lot easier and more convenient for working on after work and after dark so I actually worked on it two days in a row! I've never worked on a Supra engine on a stand before, but this is making me wish the engine was easier to pull for all...
1. I believe 18 inches was the magic number to reach the body plugs. I extended all the ECU wires an additional 18 inches so that I could put the ECU under the passenger side carpet. I honestly think it turned out perfect.
2. I used an R134a retrofit/recharge kit that I got from Kragen (or...
Got the engine out and on the stand for teardown.
Transmission off and set aside for later
The clutch got a little hot...
I was able to unbolt the A/C compressor and leave it in that car with the system still pressurized.
This is all the grinding that was needed...
Wanted to chime in that I have a light weight 1pc driveshaft, and I love it. The car used to feel like a pig when getting off the line, but now it feels like it doesn't weigh a thing. Getting the wheels moving is so much easier.
Thanks for the info on the lightweight flywheels too. I was...
Looks to me like unnecessary restriction that will hurt top end/high boost performance which basically ruins the point of having that large of a turbo anyways. I could be wrong though. I'd be very interested to hear some reviews from people with these on there cars and maybe some before/after...
T04R is long gone, but I still have the manifold, wastegate, and oil feed kit. I'll let them go cheap, so make an offer.
Edit: PM's please, if anybody wants to ask about a part that I'm getting rid of. I don't want this to be a FS thread...

Oh, it's in my to-do's in the 1st post, but I forgot to mention it anywhere else. The headgasket has a very slight leak combustion chamber to water jacket. I'm pulling the engine out and changing the headgasket with it on a stand while cleaning up/repainting the engine bay, removing the ABS...
Well I started tearing the car apart, a few minutes Sunday after work and then a little more yesterday.
And the parts pile grows!
In addition to what's been taken off, I also have some other goodies waiting to be installed:
-TEIN HR coilovers w/ pillow ball mounts (Used, but...
There's a machine shop in (the city of) Auburn which is closer to me called Moore's Engine Machine that is supposed to have a really good head surfacing machine. I'll have the head off within the next week or so, and I'll start looking into the machine shops and let you know.
Here's a little...
