The HAC just trims the AFM signal, nothing more. By increasing the voltage you are simulating a lower altitude, which adds fuel, but since idle should be in closed loop it will just get trimmed out by the fuel trim control logic.
In post #22 you were asked about VF and also if your O2 is...
I've been disassembling a 1989-90 JDM 7M-GTE M/T ECU (89661-14231) and it shares a great deal of software with the USDM version. The fault diagnosis code seems more extensive on the USDM version, but the knock sensing algorithm is better on the JDM.
As we all know, the JDM ECU does not...
You really need to diagnose this in an organized way. Start by checking the 40A heater CB, and then the heater relay. See the following chart. http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=AC&P=15

What about the IPT rebuild kits?

I tried standard multipurpose lithium grease, then moved to Lubriplate, then the polybushing stuff. ES F5 is probably just as good, but I have not tried it.
Yup, they always look bad. They need to be measured, that's the only way to know and it's a pain to do in the car.
A sticking valve is not out of the question either of course. Did the shop replace the seats in the head by any chance?
I vote that your cam bearings are out of spec. You will need to plastigage them unless you have access to high precision metrology. Tough to get a good measurement unless the buckets are off. They tend to open up due to rather poor lubrication, especially the journals in the rear furthest from...
Did you know that when the air passes through the ISC at idle its pressure drops about 12psi. Guess what happens to the air temp when it makes that journey from high pressure to low pressure. The answer is the same thing that happens to freon in your A/C evaporator at the expansion valve, its...
Sorry to hear this, especially given the pristine condition it was in. Impressive that the 23 year old air bag deployed just as designed, damn good engineering.
