Wow that is quite an odd manifold

I was going to post this car, it's actually a bit lighter (the picture is photoshopped) but it's nearly stock looking and pulls off the green really well. I'd paint my car that color if I could be bothered to do a proper color change...

If it's any help mine was completely stock and I was babying that engine since I had just dropped it in. JDM 7M with an untouched bottom end, all I did was replace the HG. I bet it's just age and wear, 20+ years is a long time for an oil pump driveshaft to turn!

This happened to my 7M while going ~90 mph on the highway :( Needless to say I needed a rebuild and mine was broken in the same way yours is.

The 7M has a longer stroke compared to the 2JZ :) I like the sound of the 7M better actually...

I'm running a PPS pump without PPS hooked up and it's definitely harder to turn at idle and low RPM. While moving over around 5 mph it's fine but noticeably stiffer than normal power steering. I've seen a bunch of 89 cars with pre-89 spoilers from the factory, always thought it looked pretty...

Nice work on the head :) If you haven't ordered bearings for the bottom end yet I'd highly, highly advise you to measure the actual crank journal and rod/main hole diameters instead of going by the numbers stamped on the parts. Mine were nowhere close to the stamped numbers at all.

It looks like a big improvement :) Poor tires though, why didn't you mask them off all the way? My saws are nasty and dirty and I've been considering painting them too.

Put some wood on the front of the oil pan just behind the harmonic balancer and it should be fine. No stress on the crank and the pan is surprisingly strong at that point :)

The 89+ wing is actually off for repainting, which is why there are gaping holes haha. Coilovers are definitely in the works soon, 4x4 is killing me!!! :) Oh and I don't have any complaints about the SSQV, it's great. I have the first gen adjustable one though, I have a friend with the newer...
