I'd still recommend using the PCI to Serial adapter to prevent against future instances of conflicts. I think $10 is worth the peace of mind that it works when you need it.
I got some cheepo serial to usb adapter to use on mine; but once I read-up on compatibility issues I decided not to use it. I'll be using some old 10 pound Toshiba Satellite laptop soley for it's serial port. However, if I do go to something newer I'll be using the PCI to serial adapter card...
Serial to USB adapters are known to have driver issues. Most of the time you can't even tell who the manufacturer is so it's hit or miss as far as compatibility goes. Your much better off using a PCI to serial adapter card. They're fairly inexpensive.
However, the fact that it was working at...
How about these:
Pre-Boss SupraSport Bolt on Stage 3 60-1 Turbo
Bolt-on Turbonetics HiFi 62-1 Turbo
1 off BIC ceramic coated DDP mandrel bent (even last 15 degree bend) from one piece of steel. Pictured for the ct-26; but have since sent it back to be modified for the...
I thought I found the B ground wire. Is it on the harness right next to the fuel injector plugs? Thing is, I grounded it to the intake mani, and now I'm not getting power to the ECU at all. Undid the ground and still no power. Strange. For the hell of it I tested the EFI 15A fuse in the engine...
I was in the same boat. A couple weeks ago I called every vendor online that listed the GTII. Nobody had one in stock. I even contacted vendors that I've purchased RSR products from in the past. For certain, the GTII is no longer available for our vehicles :( There may be some places that have...
Perhaps; but the thing isn't even running yet. You'd have to push it pretty hard to do me any damage. I may come back to it if I ever get this project finished. As it sits; it's all show and no go. :(
I'm not going to put in a full roll cage and most if not all harness bars available are junk.
This has been discussed on this forum multiple times. Most recently here:

But let's keep this thread on topic.
You can now add the RSR GTII system to that list.
Here's the Trust Power Extreme II I just snagged off a member in Japan. Some great craftsmanship and materials on this piece.
Also, the HKS TEMS controllers are getting harder and harder to come by:
Nope. I have the dark shadow grey seats out of a 92 and the plastic sides are light grey. The side panels and seat belt guides are easy enough to remove and paint black. The c-clip on the passenger side can be a little tricky, but overall a very easy task to accomplish. At least when the seats...
I've finally put the interior back in and now I'm working on the wiring. Currently, nothing spliced into the ecu (WB, EVC, VPC, etc) is working. I check the power to the ECU and it is good, but the ECU grounds are not. Which wire on the main harness provides the grounds (Ground "B" per TSRM) to...
I paid $3500 for mine with 74K on the odometer. Interior was shot and the damn thing turned out to be a lemon (been ran with bhg forever). I had the guy refund me $1000 for a JDM Engine replacment. Still think I over-paid.
If you paid $4000 for yours I hope it's nice as shit. If the previous...
Will bhg and rod knock? Maybe $1200-$1500. Maybe. That's if it's cherry throughout. There is no shortage of these vehicle with mechanical issues. Find yourself a low mileage example in prestine mechanical condition; then you'll have something with a little value.
The thing is, it's not just the guage cluster that's not powering on. The headlight aren't flipping up, Zeitronix WB, SAFC, EVC and VPC (all spliced into IGT) aren't powering on. Not even the TEMS controller which is plugged into the interior harness. I forgot to test the power windows. I'm...
Ditched the leather inserts and went with vinyl with foam backing. Looks much better imo. Much closer to the surrounding rubbing than leather. I thought I was done, but I hooked up the battery to test out the radio and the face seems to be catching somewhere when it flips open. I can help it...
Center bezel is about done. I had to cut some rubber away to fit the radio and the SAFC. Came out pretty nice. I still need to make some leather inserts to cover the gaps to the left and right of the EVC/VPC (like on the right of the SAFC); but it shouldn't take too long. I'll come up with...
