Not possible, short of dumping an obscene amount of money into it.
The engine would have to be adapted to a front wheel drive transmission, and it's probably way too long anyhow.
Plus, honestly, it would be a waste of a good engine.
To fix it your going to have a take a circuit tester and go over the areas near the caps. I'd start with that one with the burn. Cleaning it probably won't fix the problem.
That cap in the 4th pic down had definitely gone bad...and it looks like there is damage to the trace beneath it, I would check the continuity along that circuit. That area it's in is right around the injector control circuit. I'm willing to bet your problem is right there.
Also, I would get...
Best diagram ever! You don't need to T the compressor ports together though, they are both measuring the same vacuum. I ran one of them into the boost controller and capped the other.
This guy is selling 2jz cams:

If that doesn't work try the mk4 for sale section on SupraForums.
Since 2j cams have to be reground to fit the 1j head, I assume that 1j cams don't fit in a 2j head. Plus, you don't want stock 1j cams in your 2j head.
I will bet that thing is loaded with problems that aren't even mentioned. The interior is mismatched and trashed, front end panels don't line up right, and it's clear the car hasn't been taken care of in a long time. I feel sorry for whomever buys that car, but hopefully it will be saved.
When one of my caps went it leaked on a trace. Take a look at the circuits around the caps and check to make sure none were damaged.
Also, I'm not sure about this, but I think the injector drivers are the big green rectangular capacitors on the main board. If one of these went bad, it may...
Did you happen to mess with the grounds on the intake? The map sensor grounds to the ring terminal there.
In my experience the map sensor won't throw a code unless there's something wrong with the circuit it's on, mine became completely disconnected from the vacuum line when I was driving and...
You're going to at least need a map sensor, ignitor, and ECU. If you want to use the hydrofan then you need the fan setup, thermistor, and the ECU for that. If not be prepared to get parts for a mechanical conversion or an e-fan and a cooler to stop the water pump from wearing out.
Personally...
I ordered my capacitors from Digikey, I think they'll ship internationally.
Change all the electrolytic capacitors in the ECU.
They are the following values(all are 105f temp rated):
33uf 35v
15uf 35v
47uf 63v
100uf 10v
220uf 10v
My 1j came with an oldschool Greddy Airinix intake, alot of flow but poor filtration. I switched to the K&N fipk for the 7m for the heck of it and I could swear it feels slower. The K&N definitely has less surface area though so who knows.
If the exhaust smelled sweet, i'd say you had a BHG for sure, and I still think it's a possibility. Compression tests don't usually tell you if you have one. You would be losing alot of something with that kind of smoke, if you're losing coolant that's probably your answer.
Pick up a coolant...
My 1jz used to fluctuate at idle sometimes, it wasn't a big deal but when I was troubleshooting the car for another problem I replaced the crank position sensor and since then it's had a perfect idle. The 1jz ecu uses the crank sensor to determine where to set the idle and in my case the...
Actually, yes, you're more likely to blow a compressor seal. A compressor seal will go due to all of the issues that will kill a turbine seal and many more. This will lead to excess oil in the intake and cylinders. However, the seal would have to be nonexistant to pump the amount of oil needed...
Over on SF there was a guy who had an issue with the car breaking up and was running IK20's, when he switched to 6097's it was fixed, so it definitely could be the plugs.
Just so you know, I did the exact same thing when my car wasn't starting. Took my ECU and put it in a friends car and it started up and ran for 20 minutes before we shut it off. In my car it wouldn't run for even 1 minute. ECU still turned out to be the problem.
Just saying, don't rule it out.
