After much trial and error, I've found the correct size. That thread is an M16 x 1.5. egauges.com sells an M16 x 1/8NPT bushing (http://www.egauges.com/vdo_indA.asp?PN=R7964). VDO also makes a temp sensor with an M16 x 1.5 thread if you want to forgo the bushing.
On my old 86.5 NA, I found two Toyota mechanics shirts in the trunk. Pretty sweet. I kept one and gave the other to my friend who also owned a Supra.
On my 89 I found some golf tee's in the trunk, a receipt from the early 90's for new tires, and a small blue plastic plaque that says "89...
Thanks Enraged. I'll pick up an M12 bolt tomorrow and see if that fits. If so I'll see if Adapt All makes an adapter. If not, I might have to go the route that you took.
Well, I can now say that it's not 1/4 bspt ;). That's the size that I ordered and it's a bit too small.
I just found this thread on another forum: http://www.toyota-supra.info/forums/mkiii-supra/7498-coolant-temp-sensor-thread-size.html
Someone is saying that it could be M14 x 1.5, not...
The adapter is from a company called Adapt All. http://www.adaptall.com/ They make tons of different adapters and fittings. The part that I got was #9042-04-02, in steel which is a 1/4 male bspt to 1/8 female NPT, but that didn't work. They also make it in stainless and brass I believe...
I'm looking to replace the stock coolant temp gauge with an aftermarket gauge from PLX Devices. I already have other PLX gauges, so this should be an easy install into their system.
The PLX sensor appears to be a VDO brand 1/8 NPT fluid temp sensor. I also purchased a 1/4 bspt to 1/8 npt...
I'm using Tien Flex coilovers and I'm very happy with them so far. I especially like the ease of adjustment (settings from 1 (softest) - 16 (hardest)). I was running them at 10 and they were very stiff. Too hard IMO for many Northeast roads. I'm now running them at the 7 setting and I'm very...
Very late to the thread, but here's my Pioneer AVIC-F700BT. It's one of the cheaper Pioneer models. I'm not too fond of the interface and the GPS seems a bit slow from a processing power standpoint, but it does the job for the price point. I have the HD Radio and iPod options. HD Radio works...
I know this well as I replaced my lighting stalk on my 89+ a few months ago. Yes, the high beam switch functions via a pivot point and on the end a ball (about the size of a bb), a spring, and the "ball set plate" which is a metal strip bent in such a way that it causes the "indents" when you...
I don't know if this is going to help you because it may be an odd setup, but when I installed my Spearco, I removed my fog lights and put my oil cooler right behind where the drivers side fog light used to be. I used an aftermarket oil cooler and I can't remember if the stock one could be made...
I have a PWR and love it. Fitment is fine and I've never had an issue with it. I don't have experience with other aftermarkets so I don't know how it compares.
Ha, I love the response. I was hoping for a more elegant solution but I may have to go back to that way myself. I did find a 1 1/4" to 1" PVC reducer at Home Depot, so I just need to find some 1 1/4" ID hose, tack that onto my old setup, and hello Sanford and Son.
I just replaced my HKS SSQV with a Synapse Synchronic and am now in search of a new hose setup to recirculate the BOV back into the accordion pipe. The HKS had a 1" outlet but the Synapse has a 1.25" outlet, making my previous hose setup obsolete. Synapse does make a 1" fitting, but they want...
Well, here is a shot of mine (pardon the dirty rims). I have 18 x 8.5 in the front, 18 x 9.5 in the rear. Kazera KZ-A SML's. I know Kazera is a mediocre Tire Rack brand, but I liked them and they fit my price point - rims and tires for $1,404, shipped (well, back in '04). They make them in...
Well, I got my hands on a torque wrench and torqued that nut to 195. Phew. She's good to go.
I guess the good news is that I'll probably never leave a wrench on that nut again.
