I probably will buy a new one if I go with the Illumina II's if they ever come back into stock... I wasn't expecting that switch to be $95, I was expecting like $400+.
Hey everyone,
I think I had a build thread I made here years ago, but I've decided to make a new one. This isn't going to be a build thread like most of the other's here with high HP goals etc. This thread will mostly be me posting pictures of the car, and little mods I do to it as I go...
No problem, here they are. The front is 83 ft-lbs and the rear is 133 ft-lbs. I assume this is for all pre89 subframes, but cannot completely guarantee. This is what the 87 TSRM says though.
Just FYI it's a different torque spec for the pre89 subframes. I can get those torque specs from my 87 TSRM if anyone wants. I don't remember how much different the torques are, but I do remember they are different.
I'll definitely post some pictures of it when It's finished. I'm hoping it comes out good, I've never done one before. Right now it's just got the center cut out and I'm waiting for a warmer day to go ahead and paint it. Unfortunately the lettering I am going to put on the front of it won't be...
I would definitely check them out. It takes all of 15 minutes and I actually noticed a difference.
Here's the page in the TSRM that has the specs.

Have you retorqued your Subframe via the TSRM procedures? It's listed as a maintenance operation, but most people never do it. I was surprised with how loose mine were with less than 90k miles on the car. It made the car feel more solid when going over bumps like rail road tracks where I used to...
No problem. I understand wanting to keep Toyota OEM looking parts in it. That was originally my plan, but I have since gone to a touchscreen unit with bluetooth and I have no regrets. If you get a quality one it won't look cheap and the bluetooth is wonderful.
I think it should be able to adjust where the clutch engages as well. I had to adjust mine when I first got the car 4 years ago after I replaced the master and slave cylinder, but I don't really remember what the process was.
What do you mean by routing?
I used to have a radio out of a first generation Sequoia in my Supra and it worked perfectly. Even matched the green interior lighting. There are multiple Scion headunits you can use too.
I am registered on T4R, but I've never posted anything there. Only been a member for a few weeks now. I just read through everything and look through build threads wishing mine was as cool as some of the ones over there. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the MK3 with the 4Runner...
Ah ok. I know what you're talking about. I really like the way the headlights look on that Supra, Rodel has his lights like that right now too I think. I didn't want to get into cutting stuff and all the more intensive modification that goes along with doing lights like that though, that's why I...
So far so good. They look just like they did when I put them in a year ago. I think it's the sun that causes most of the damage to headlight plastic so it would make sense that our's don't get damaged like that since they are normally down when the sun is out.
What do you mean by more minimal...
Haha, sorry, didn't mean to tease. Basically they are generic H4 plastic housings, with Mini H1 6.0 projectors in them. All custom made, using various pieces from home depot/lowes/walmart etc to hold everything together because of our stupid sealed beam headlights. Here's a post I made in my...
Finally got my headlights back in. I had to pull them out to secure the projectors a little better because they were getting knocked out of alignment. Hopefully this time they are good to go and will stay aligned. Here's a quick pic of the cutoff on the garage. Been thinking about making some...
Just about any head light modification is going to require you to build it yourself, and kinda create your own path. There's not much plug and play for our cars. You can get some Hella H4's or LED healdights like TruckLites. They wont really change the looks of the headlights though, only...
