The early Supra's do not have that same type plug as the later ones, I believe it is a mini GM plug or something similar. I searched and searched for an adapter for the rear window antenna on my 87 that was built in December of 86 and I could not find one or I would be using only the rear window...
You can take your time to source the parts and build the motor as well and still have a running and driving Supra at the same time. This way you won't feel rushed to just buy any parts and can get the one's you really want.
If you want to swap the car then go for it. If you do a clean GTE swap no one will ever know the difference. I also have a super clean 87 N/A, but I don't really want to swap it at the time. It was my first car and was bought like this so I plan to keep it somewhere close to stock. If you do the...
Washed the Supra today. It wasn't particularly dirty, just dusty from sitting in the garage because I haven't been driving it as much this summer as usual. I try to not drive it when the weather looks bad so that helps keep it clean.
Usually a resonator cuts down on the "raspyness" of the exhaust. I would personally leave it on, but I like my cars to have a quiet, yet smooth aggressive sound. I can't stand raspy exhausts.
I was looking at the Tanabe springs as well. I messaged 3p141592654 a few weeks ago and asked for his fender height measurements so I could compare to mine on a stock 87. What I figured from the measurements was that it drops more like 2" in the front and .5" in the rear. I'm not sure if this is...
This is awesome. Let me know what happens with the springs. I would like new springs as well, but I think all the aftermarket ones drop too much. I haven't been able to find any new stock springs in either pre 89 or post 89.
Are you able to do any of the work the car would need yourself? This is very important with an old car. If you can do the work yourself and would have a way to get around if the car has to be down for a little bit of time while something is being fixed then I think this is a great car. I paid...
This is the closest to OEM looking I have found. It is cheap as well, so that may work to your advantage. They may not even notice it is not OEM if you do a good job putting it on and mounting it.

I'm not sure. I think there are little studs on the bottom of it with nuts on them and rubber washers or so that deteriorate over time. I think you can possibly replace them with new ones. I haven't done it, but I remember reading where someone had done this. For some reason I think it was...
