lagged, Jdub, Fred-
Thanks for your responses, I appreciate you help!!
Yup OPS = oil pressure sender.
I was thinking about the teflon tape thing, but wasnt sure if it would survive with the heat and the oil??
I noticed that NAPA has a replacement oil pressure switch for like $30. Which...
Some history-
Rebuilt engine about 500 miles.
Started to leak oil, just a drop in the garage, and then about two weeks ago there was a major puddle under the car.
I traced it back to the oil pressure sender, removed it and then reinstalled tightly. Started the car and again Major oil...
There are two bolts that hold the starter on.
If your car is a early model, something like a pre 90, the bolts will have nusts on the other side. You will need to get to both sides to take the bolts off. Some have posted that if you take the Alt out you can use a ratchet with some extensions to...
Figure out what your goals are for the car and that will determine the path you take.
The stock botom end is good for quite a bit of HP.
As mentioned the amount of machining on the head will tell you what size gasket you need. That plus if the block deck need to be machined for a MHG.
At a...
Umm-
A couple of thoughts.
Your buying a unkown used engine.
It might work out just fine, swap your sensors over, put the EGR on, fill with oil and good to go.
However, you should be aware of the following.
Other members have gone this route, with no so great results.
1- This engine may have...

OK that link is dead.
The guy posted a output from the KS.
At about 13KHZ he had 2V.
He was running the engine and monitoring the KS at the same time.
There was constant output from the KS. If your seeing no...
Suprahero - Thanks for the positive outlook!
Miggles and 1J- I look for excuses to buy tools!, but I think I may return these. $50 for a set of 10 metric, I would prefer to use the $$ for ratcheting wrenches!!
Suprashy- Thanks for the suggestions, I need to do a further investigation. This...
Well to answer my own question.
Do not go to sears and buy the crawfoot wrenches, the do not reach deep enough behind the OPS.
I ended up removing the power stearing pump and resovour, the upper bracket that holds the resovour in place and the top bracket that holds the power stering pump in...
Bringing this thread back to life-
Seems like I have a minor oil leak from the OPS.
Cant seem to figure out how to get to this with a standard wrench.
Can somebody please tell me the exact size I need, the best method to attach this( do I need to go and get crawfoot wrenches? Standard wrench...
Maybe-
Make sure the block deck is flat.
The Toyota is much more forgiving than a MHG, but it has limits also.
I attemped to fix a BHG, and after all the work the toyota HG only sealed for a few minutes! turned out the block deck was not flat and had enough imperfections so that the OEM hg...
Code 52
Only 3 possible sources of the problem
1- Knock sensors
2- wireing from KS to ECU
3- ECU
The code is only generated when the ecu can not "hear" the KS. It DOES NOT OCCURE IF YOUR ENGINE IS KNOCKING!!
The knock sensors produce a wave form output that is very sensitive to...
Our cars are know to have a problem with the tail light warning box.
Take a look at the wire diagrams and you can see how to jump the wires to by-pass the box. That way you will know if the box is the problem.
Otherwise, yup its basic troubleshooting.

Do you have to upgrade your fuel pump, no. However yu should consider that your pump is what 15 + years old and now you want it to pump even more volume to feed the 550 injectors. It's up to you but you get the point.
As far as idle, much has been writen on this site about useing the FPR to...
