I just replaced a set of hood shocks. I used part number D95211. Autozone had them in stock for $20 / piece. The ones they had listed for the supra were special order and twice the price.
Seriously, the easiest short term solution is just have your jza70 ecu fixed. Once the capacitors have been replaced once, they don't fail again. Or if you don't have it anymore/its unrepairable get another one and have the caps replaced before you run it.
If you run a JDM 2jz, you can use the 1jz wiring harness if you want, but that will put you back to the same problem with the ECU.
Besides wiring and ECU, its basically drop in if you already have a 1jz. If you end up getting an Aristo 2jz, you will have to take the oilpan setup off your...
Depending on the damage sometimes you can fix ECU's, sometimes you can't. I would recommend checking it before you run it anymore, because if the caps are leaking using it may only cause more damage. Get some pics up and I can tell you if it looks fixable.
If you already have the whole hydrofan system, the pump is probably the easiest part to find from those converting to clutch fan. I would stick with the hydrofan.
If you don't stay hydrofan switch to clutch fan. Trying to run efans with the hydro pump in place is a temporary solution at best...
I call BS on the guy, the car wouldn't crank without the B1 plug connected, the wiring to the starter is on that plug. Also, the fuel pump relay connection is on that plug, so without it the car would not be getting fuel.
In later wiring (90+) the B1 plug will connect to the 1jz harness, and...
I've looked at the lexus hydrofan and I believe it to be the same unit, however the shroud its mounted on is significantly different, so you'd have to find a way to mount it but you can use it.
Also, if you want to run e-fans with the hydro pump, just loop the hydrofan lines with fluid in...
Nah that's the Lincoln Memorial light.
Seriously though, what was Toyota thinking putting that cryptic thing on the dash. It sort of looks like a radiator...if you have a Rolls Royce.
Try Northeast Auto Machine in Hartford. They've done alot of work on 7m's. They did a full rebuild on one of my engines.
I had just a head machined once for $80 at a different machine shop.
If your engine had a BHG or you aren't completely sure the block surface is perfect have it machined...
I couldn't even leave the struts attached to my carbon fiber hood, it would just bend in the middle when you tried to close it. Hopefully they work a little better with fiberglass. If possible, you may want to look into finding some weaker struts.
I assume you guys don't plan to use it with the stock ECU...since there's a calibration issue there.
The wiring:
The three pins on the GM sensor are labeled A,B,C (left to right looking at it with the connector on the bottom).
A-ground
B-signal
C-5v
On the 1jz map sensor:
1 (brown...
If I remember correctly, that harness was already wired to be plug and play with the MA70 plugs in the fusebox area.
If that's so, the only thing you need to do is run a power wire from the alternator post on the passenger side to the big black ring terminal connector in the fusebox area that...
Go to a junkyard. If you can't get a decent price on an SC300 one, get an SC400 one and grind down the back of the top mount hole 1/4". Generally, for some reason the SC400 ones tend to be cheaper.
I looked through FIC's offerings and they don't seem to make sidefeed injectors, so you would definitely need another rail to run them. IMO the additional expense of the Sard's is worth saving the trouble.
My bumper got hit by a retread on the highway and it cracked from the grill all the way into the fog light area. I repaired it with fiberflex and it's been holding up well, it was also really easy to use. For fixing broken tabs and such I haven't had the same luck with it though. They suggest...
I have only managed to get one person into being a supra owner, on the other hand I've watched several friends get out of Supras.
It takes a sort of dedicated insanity to be a long time supra owner.
