Correct, you CANNOT use the NA ecu on a turbo car b/c it does not have the proper fuel/ignition maps for the gte to run properly. You will need the turbo ecu, turbo harness, complete engine and transmission assembly, front half of driveshaft, pedals if you are putting a manual tranny into an...
Well ladies and gentlemen....I got my first start off my Supra today :D. I was so excited when it came to life. It startled me at first b/c I wasn't expecting it, lol....but when it did...it was music to my ears :D :D :D!!! I tested my injectors and they were all pulsing and met tsrm spec on...
No, I haven't inspected the fuel filter at all. I'm not 100% sure where it is located either. The reason I keep suspecting clogged injectors is because I have ample fuel pressure coming into the rail at the top banjo bolt, but I don't have fuel smell on the number one spark plug. (It's the...
I am going to try to test to ensure my injectors are firing tomorrow. I don't have a mechanical stethoscope, but I heard using a screwdriver on the body of the injector will serve just as good. If my injectors aren't firing at all, then I guess one of my grounds must be missing or loose. I...
Use the yellow the plug engine harness and just splice in the few sensor plugs that are different on the harness. Thats what I did :D. Sourcing a decent engine harness for an 86.5-88 might be kind of difficult though. I paid 120 for mine....well worth it...trust me!
I know those are grounded to the mani because that was the first thing I checked was my grounds. I can check them again, but I am almost certain grounds are not the issue. Any other thoughts/ideas?
First off, when I bought the Supra it didn't run. I am in the process of putting in a 7mgte and a w58. I recently changed out my fuel pump because it was bad. Once I got that done I had a fuel leak on the rail which was caused by a lose banjo bolt. Today I got the fuel leak fixed, turned it...
I pmed IJ last night and he to also recommended that fuel pump. I looked locally at my parts stores and they wanted right at $400 for a pump. Needless to say I was a bit shocked, lol. And rayall01, thanks for the information...you have been utmost helpful.
I am using a yellow plug harness on an 89 engine just because my car is a yellow plug chassis. On my gte, I had to re wire three or four sensors, but I know two of them were on the water neck side....ge only has one on the water neck to re-wire if I remember correctly. Luckily, I had an 89...
I'm not sure if they were knock offs or not, but for whatever reason they were having a bit of a problem with them. Maybe because they did something wrong during installation. I dunno. I guess I will stick to my original plans and go with the walbro. Thanks for the reassurance guys.
Most of your tire shops will have the equipment to do alignments and also may specialize in alignments. Your local phone book could probably be a resourceful tool if properly used.
I also know of a few people around here running walbros in their cars...hence why I asked about the reliability b/c the people who are running them are on their 2nd+ pump. Also, is the 12v mod needed with the pump if I did in fact purchase a walbro?
I have a similar problem with mine only I haven't replaced the pump yet.I discovered Sunday that my fuel pump is bad on Supra. The car is turbo. I was considering an OEM replacement but have heard that walbro's were a fairly good alternative to OEM. However, I feel that the reliability of the...
I discovered Sunday that my fuel pump is bad on Supra. The car is turbo. I was considering an OEM replacement but have heard that walbro's were a fairly good alternative to OEM. However, I feel that the reliability of the walbro's are not up to par. I guess my question is, would it be...
Is it electronic or mechanical?? I have an AutoMeter mechanical boost gauge that will be tied in to a vaccum line creating the reading on the gauge itself.
From my knowledge, you do not need the turbo pressure sensor at all unless running a stock boost gauge. This other gauge you are talking about using, is it a boost gauge?
Edit: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96691 <-----I asked a similar question to yours and got the...
