That's the thing... I do not see any blue etc in the smoke...
I'm beginning to think that I am burning coolant/oil/maybe running rich?..
I marked the overflow tank the other night when the car was dead cold. Then I ran the engine for a good 30mins ... let it fullly cool down and then checked...
Why don't you pull your Spark Plugs to see how the car is running. Mine are black as hell b/c of oil or running rich... Not sure which one yet... But pull the plugs and check them! If your not running rich, then the plugs should be nice and clean with little to no carbon buildup.
Can you please elaborate what you mean by that? Contaminating the cylinder walls or myself with oil? If the cylinder walls, I've left the bottom block exposed all winter before I had the chance to put the cylinder head back on the block.
Thanks! Do you guys think its safe to remove a spark plug, leave it opened, remove the injector clip for that cylinder and fire up the car? The car would be idling on 5 cylinders only. I wanna see if that combustion chamber is has oil squirting all over the place.
I do live off daddy's cash, however I'm mad cheap and know I shouldn't pour too much money into my car that's very old... That's just me though. I am interested to know how this thing goes!
they were new and only have 25 km... not even a 100km on them!!! I got white smoke coming out of the tail pipe... The smoke seems to dissappear after i drive it around for 1km. The oil in the car is brand new too with 3 km max on it. I will try and get pics tonight for sure.
I just pulled out all my plugs to inspect the condition of my car... Well not so great news... All of them were pretty much black and had carbon all over them. It leads me to think that I'm burning oil... Alot of it b/c some of them are even slightly wet. I'm running crazy heavy oil 20W/50 +...
Looking at a truck thread, that device from awwshifting seems pretty decent. It's very basic and does not include a lot of room to make adjustments like the one from latent.
You can't beat $130 bucks though... Has anyone had any experience with latent?
I did a compression test awhile ago and my cylinders read pretty good with no signs of a BHG... i followed that TSRM site procedure for compression testing. I really need to pressure test my coolant system... I suspect there HAS to be some small crack somewhere seaping and burning.
Upon...
Yea, my plan is to bypass those two pieces... Its a huge pain to reach at them hoses though. I can barely see them let alone reach them... Did you have to remove the TB/ISC to bypass?
I was reading up on the online TSRM website and it mentioned this:
This was taken from the site:
-----------------------------------
Intake Coolant Hose Leak
The coolant line that goes to the TB and ISC comes out of the head at the bottom of the intake runners. If the seal isn't good it...
I just thought of something simple to do... If I PRESSURE test my coolant, and its low, that would be a good indication that I have some leak somewhere in the coolant system right?
I had the head lapped, and put in a toyota stocker HG with ARPs torqued to like 95ft-lb with engine oil (no special moly lube). I did check a compression check awhile ago and it was pretty good. 170-180 across. I'm guessing carbon build up when i was testing it with the timing off.
I've only...
Strangly enough... I get no codes... arrr
I have tons of white smoke puffing away on start up... it never seems to go away until i drive it around the block... after that, the heavy white smoke dissapears... I've been hunting this smoking problem for sooooo long and have not found a solution...
The picture of the car painted black on top was NOT done with tremclad/rustolean that you could pick up at your hardware store. It was done with boat paint and wetsanded/polished many times using quality polishes and a good buffer...
Like I've mentioned before...
REALISTICALLY you are...
