I'm in the final stages of wiring up my 1JZ swap. I'm going to be using a Holset HE351CW turbo and Map-Ecu2 for my engine management. I only plan on controlling fuel initially but eventually plan on doing timing as well. I attatched the file to wire the Map-Ecu2 into the 1JZ harness and I'm...
I've got a HE351CW that I hope to have up and running on my 1JZ within a couple of months. As the project takes shape I'll be sharing as much info as possible on any results.
Yeah, I know it's not going to do much for them but it's that or just throw them in. I don't want to put the $120 into injectors that I'm going to only be using for a few months at most. I just figured it might help clean the screens and tips somewhat. I'm mostly looking to see if it can HURT...
I'm curious if it's ok to dunk injectors in a parts cleaner without harming them. I know that they need to be sent to RC or Witchunter to be cleaned and flowtested correctly but these are just some JDM 440's I'm putting in my 1JZ to get the car running. I won't be turning boost up past 8psi...
I just got a present in the mail today. It was a 1JZ SPEC Flywheel. I haven't seen anything about it on here so maybe it's a new find. The store is LMP Performance or LMP Racing. There are 2 websites and they appear to be the same company. The flywheel is steel. I'm not sure of the weight but it...
I know, I know. The thing is that Maroon car is probably a toaster by now. It went to the crusher last summer. I do think if you lowered the car more than an inch it would rub with those rims and 275's on the back.
Ask and you shall recieve Doward. Here's a few pics I could find. Remember, as far as fitment goes, these are on a stock suspension car that isn't lowered so no "nice 4x4" comments. I really do like how mustang wheels fit. They have offsets around the mid 20's usually, look good, are plentiful...
I have Mustang Cobra R's on my car. They're the same size and offset as the ones you're talking about and I have a 275 on back with no issuses or rubbing. The rims fill up the wheel wells nicely and stick out as much as you can without rubbing or looking obnoxious.
Good luck. With Detroit being the home of "Domestics" there just don't seem to be many nice imports around here. I live in the thumb and other than my cars, I've only seen 1 MK3 in my life around here and it wasn't driving, it was in a paint shop. I've sold parts to a couple of people from the...
Mine had a thermostat in place. As far as the pump, I won't know because I'm going to be doing a 2JZ pump swap. I did notice the coolant wasn't green, wasn't even orange. It was pink. I suppose that may be the stuff you put in motorhomes so things don't freeze?? That's the only place I've ever...
If you can really get them that cheap, buy both engines. Use the 1JZ, and part out the 2JZ. Take the money from the parted out 2JZ and build the 1JZ. Like somebody said before, the V160 is worth about double that.
I got one from Osaka 4 days ago. It was $1050 shipped. It came with an Auto trans, uncut harness, ecu, map, ignitor, rear sump, motor mounts and brackets, and hydrofan ecu. Their customer service sucks but the engine itself was fine. Here's a pic
I'm not trying to do it for asthetics, I'm trying to simplify everything I possibly can while the engine's out. If the coolant doesn't do anything vital on the intake side except run to the heater core, could I cut the pipe off where it bends to run forward on the intake side and just route it...
I started tearing apart my 1JZ today in preperation for replacing all of the seals and gaskets. I also plan on going single. I noticed there's a coolant line that goes from the back of the WP housing all the way around the back and to the intake side. I assume this line fed the turbo's and it...
You won't need much more. It's the wiring that can be a pain. I already had a '87 Turbo 5-Speed car for parts and I'm using the R154 from that. All I really need to get it running are a bellhousing, flywheel, 2JZ water pump, throttle cable (different people like to use different ones), 2JZ PS...
Yeah, I'm happy. They made it sound like they've got them sitting around in bunches. I was debating just throwing it in since it looks unabused but considering how cheap the full gasket kit is I decided I'm going to tear it apart and do it right the first time. Plus it'll give me an excuse to...
I posted this in another thread today but that was in the "General" section and I figured it was relevent to this thread as well...
Santa finally paid me a visit in his big brown sleigh today. I've got to say I'm pleasantly suprised. The engine looks great. So far it looks to be as...
Santa finally paid me a visit in his big brown sleigh today. I've got to say I'm pleasantly suprised. The engine looks great. So far it looks to be as advertised. I was only at my shop for a little while and snapped a few pics. The only thing I didn't notice while giving it a quick look over was...
