    Tips for installing coilovers?

Got it done today. 4 people, 5 hours (including getting food, beer, spring compressors and screwing round) The window washer reservoir was definitely a pain (although it was on the drivers side, JDM car) but being a TEMS car, taking apart the interior in the hatch was such a pain, putting it...

    Tips for installing coilovers?

Finally got a set of Tein Super Streets for my 86.5. I've installed coilovers on a couple of Nissans before but never a Toyota let alone our cars. Was just wondering if there's anything majorly different that I need to know about about the coilovers or our cars in terms of swapping out the...

    Exhaust too low for coilovers?

Have some Tein SS coilovers on their way but am unsure what to do with my exhaust that seems to hang unusually low under the car. If I lower the car too low then the exhaust will get damaged. I've attached a couple of pics of it. Exhaust was done by PO. Is it missing a bracket or something...

    White smoke (burning smell)

Sorry to threadjack, but I have a similar problem, white smoke from exhaust (smells like oil) when taking off and coming to a stop. How do you know if it's engine burning oil or the turbo?

    Tein HR Coilovers

Anyone had any experience with the HR model of Tein Coilovers? Have found a set of 2nd hand ones really cheap but have never seen the HR model mentioned here on SM and can't find them on the Tein website either. Are these an older model? What are they best for, ie street, track etc? My car...

    Quick headlight questions

Poodles, ALL the fuses in the engine bay are fine, including BOTH for EACH headlight. My HEADLIGHTS are fine. Have tested all the fuses in the kickpanel, all work fine. Even tested power to the fog light switch and it works. Took out what I THOUGHT was the fog light relay, it was extremely...

    Quick headlight questions

Update, Checked both headlights. The dim one is a whole different unit, and is self contained (can't talk bulb out). Replaced both park light bulbs. One of my fog light bulbs were shot, but the other was still good. Replaced the bad one and neither work still. Tried to find the fog light...

    Quick headlight questions

One of my headlights is brighter than the other, by quite a bit, any way to fix this? Both my fog lights now no longer work. One stopped working a little while ago and now both are gone, chance of both bulbs going? One of my orange lights on the front (can't remember the correct name for...

    Calling Anyone with Turbo'd Automatic

I have what looks like the factory BOV, which is recirculated, but I get compressor surge. Might be because I'm only running 6psi or maybe because I just need a new BOV, don't really know.

    Car bogging at steady throttle

Just recently fixed a code 31 by replacing the AFM, ran great after that, had no problems. Until the other day, was driving steadily at around 2k revs, my foot didn't move, but then the car started kind of like bogging for a few seconds. It'd drop maybe 100 revs then back up, then repeat a few...

    Question regarding radio wire harness

Thank you GrimJack, thought I was never gonna make any sense, you got it spot on. And yea I'm pretty sure that's what I have. ForcedTorque, firstly thanks for your help. So what you're suggesting is, cut the plugs off the car end of the Toyota harness, and connect them to the wires I already...

    Question regarding radio wire harness

Not sure what you mean. The headunit (AFTERMARKET) harness plugs into the harness I bought for a 87, the problem is if the 87 harness will fit my 86.5 Supra. That's what I'm trying to avoid doing when all I have to do is plug a couple of plugs together. Already tried the other day and was...

    Question regarding radio wire harness

Yes all the wires are there, but they are all cut short and simply a mess. Is it not a hell of a lot easier to take a couple of plugs out, get rid of the mess of wires, put a new plug in then simply plug it into my headunit. Both the headunit and the toyota harness I have just connect...
