have you checked all the fuses. maybe a relay. if you have a haynes manual... i dont have mine in front of me but there are quite a few relays in the car. might want to check em out. i'm having wiring issues at the moment as well except i cant get my car to start.
See the points on the ecu is whats confusing. on t1, and 12 i had about .5-.9v and 2.5-2.6 on t2. I ran jumper wires to those wires to get a full 12v and when i tried to do that without connecting the wires to a 12v source they had 12v and later the voltage dropped back. I know that the battery...
well at first on pins t1 and 12 i had less than half a volt and 2.5-2.6 on t2. then i ran jumper wires to the ecu and all of a sudden it had a full 12v to all 3 pins and then it went back to same old. i determined the ign. sw. issue by tickling the starter. why would the voltage on the 3 "t"...
i worked on the car today and now my ignition switch took a dump the ecu is sometimes getting power to points t1,2, and 12. there is still not check engine light when the ignition is on the on position. is the ign. switch going to prevent the other things from working right?
im just finishing up the swap and i tried firing a while back and had no spark. so i opened the igniter and it appeared that it was fried so i ordered a new one and still no spark i have yet to fire this motor so it has never been fired in my possesion. also i realized that i have not hooked up...
no i havent tried the pins on the ecu. yes i have opened the ecu and everything was fine. thats why i was so puzzled. the first thing i thought was blown caps on the board because i hear about it often on here and the firing command goes from the ecu to the igniter if im not mistaken.
ok im stumped. i have replaced my igniter and i am getting fuel and i hooked up my guage cluster and i dont have a check engine light on when the key in on the ON position. I checked for spark and I still have no spark. Can anyone tell me what it might be that it wont fire.
Also the guys from top secret had to fab a bellhousing and use a flywheel from a getrag because they wanted to use the getrag other the tranny on it. the intercooler was relocated to the rear of the car and ducts were put in place of the quarter glass so that the intercooler would get fresh air...
i believe the 1jz has a metal head gasket vs. a cosmetic gasket on the 7m. the 1jz's overall potential is so much greater and when a lil honda or eclipse thinks he is gonna spank ya he better think again unless he got a ton dumped under the hood. get a bigger intercooler and unchoke the factory...
ok i have cranked the car before with no problem. now my wire that goes from my ignition to the battery came off of the terminal. i hooked it up and car cranked. i tried it this past weekend and everytime i touched the wire to the terminal it arced really bad almost to the point that it started...
well i found the problem. i started ohming every single wire in that car and i started playing with the terminals to the battery. one of the positives was attached by the plastic and not by the wire. i stripped the wire and hooked it to the terminal and my 1JZ LIVES AT LAST!!!
ok i got my 1jz all rebuilt and all the wiring done and I tried crank the motor over and I have no power through out the whole car. I have no dome lights or anything. the battery is brand new and everything i could find was grounded. i do have the dash and that funky looking bar support that...
ok i am getting ready to install my water pump on my 1jz. well i have the timing specs and everything from alldata for a 2jz which i have been told are the same. i need to know where the marks are on the timing gears and where to point them to. also i was told the timing specs are 10 degrees...
ok i have a couple of aftermarket guages i am installing and unsure how to install them.
1. boost guage- mechanical. i was told to t it into where the wastegate vacuum is and doesnt the 1jz have separate wastegates for each turbo? if so which wastegate would I tap into or does it matter...
i wanted a 6speed too until i found out what a pain it is to do it. the r-154 will be fine. all 6th gear is is an overdrive gear if my memory serves right. why not do a 1.5jz?
