I have no experience with the knock-off brace but I can say the Do-Luck brace helped the targa shake. It did not eliminate it but it did help. Replacing bushings will help as well, but I agree with 1988ma70supra %100 on the targa brace. With the targa brace installed there is no perceivable flex...
I bought a "new" oil pump from Toyota a couple years ago and pulled it apart to shim the relief valve, and for some reason decided to measure the clearances. Both the gear backlash and side clearances were at max spec per TSRM. Now I always double check clearances on everything.
I have also...
I run the 17x9 +15 for fronts and like it. Running about 5 degrees camber with no fender roll on Eibach/ Tokicos. Rubs only the fender liner on hard turns.
The +30 will sit more flush with the fender, so its up to what you like personally.
I would pull the turbo/ compressor housing and tap the bung 1/8" npt. IIRC the boost source should comr from before the throttle body.
The best idea is to tap the comp housing like Toyota did from the factory. Not sure why yours is not tapped though.
Better side pic:
This is the bracket the HKS intercooler and hardpipe kit comes with that I more or less copied:
Both brackets hold the hood latch as good as the OEM bracket did.
Depends on how in depth you plan on getting. I only relocated the fuse/ relay box and there was a shit ton of wires I had to extend. Supposedly you can tuck it in the fender with minimal wiring though.
Engine is a 7M with .020 over Weisco pistons, Eagle rods, arp head studs, Greddy mhg, port and polish, and the valves are .5mm over 2JZ valves from SI valves. The cams are Toda's and I dont expect to rev past 8k rpm.
I looked around and could not find a definitive answer for what is required when running aftermarket cams, so I though I would ask here.
My question is:
What specifically is required of valve springs and retainers when running 272 cams? I know an upgrade is required, and it seems that...
I like the idea of a carbon targa as long as it replaced tho whole thing. Only concern would be how strong it is. (ie.. will the car flex and shake like when the roofs off.)
Also the trim piece under the dash in front of the gauge cluster, and a blank switch panel that sits to the left of the...
I used the beech bracket and it seemed like it would work with an OEM alternator. However, it didnt quite fit the MR2 alternator.
I think the key point here is that there is a little adjustability in the OEM mounting setup to adjust for different size alternators.
All this talk of AK's and accuracy remindes me of the strangest thing I have ever seen. Lapua 7.62x39 match ammo. I'll get a picture next time I'am at work.
Further backing up Supra Central: I managed .33 minute groups out of a 16.5" barrel with hand loads. There are companies that make .25...
I've always kinda like the Stout hood for its functionality but I guess I prefer the OEM hood.
I dont think there would be much of a problem driving in the rain as long as the spark plug valley cover completely seals.
