    The Small Questions Thread

Something is definitely not well with that engine, as white smoke out of the exhaust is coolant burning off in one or more cylinders. Did you do the prep work on the head and block or have a machine shop handle it? Sounds like either your block has a crack somewhere or something got missed...

    Smog not Passing.

If all else fails I'm sure someone on here will sell you one they have laying around. Check the Want to Buy/Parts Wanted section, shouldn't cost much at all if you end up having to get one. I've had mixed results cleaning up EGR's on various vehicles.

    Undercarriage Rust

Not good. Water has gotten through the cracks and scoring of the undercoating, and combined with the salt used in northern climates to deal with winter ice on the roads and you've probably got more rust than you've found so far. I'd spend the time to check out any questionable areas of the...

A good bad story, and looking for a few parts I couldn't find online or at Toyota.

Did the exact same thing myself last year, but no real damage to the targa beyond chips in the paint along one edge. So it's not just you by any means. Best of luck finding a relatively local targa, they can be really expensive to ship.

    rear wiper gasket

Champion still lists it on their website, though that doesn't necessarily mean it's still available. Worth a shot though, think the part # is 85179-14290, just a few bucks. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=213747

    Radiator Removal Video - Mishimoto

Replacement of the hatch struts might be helpful. They're such a PITA to deal with a lot of people new to the Supra might appreciate the confirmed method of replacing them. How about a video or series of shows on fixing the likely leak culprits in the hatch area? Between the trim, the...

    The Small Questions Thread

The next time you blindly guess on something I hope you have better luck. Without any context to your question what did you really expect? You posted the pic and asked what we thought. ATM reasonably presumed since it was your pic and your bearing that it was your engine, and opined that...

looking to get into a mk3 supra

Like I suggested, just take your time and do your research before you pull the trigger on one. The good ones are more difficult to find but you'll be much better off in the long run if you don't have to spend half your time and all your cash just repairing what other owners have done. Keep an...

looking to get into a mk3 supra

This part of the ad may say it all as far as I'm concerned, as the owner pretty much admits up front that this vehicle is something less than reasonably reliable. That's most assuredly not where someone new to Supra's will want to start their relationship with one (I can tell you that from...

Lack of stopping power I understand. The pedal being so soft is what I can't quite wrap my head around.

    The Small Questions Thread

Odd sort of question, but I wasn't paying enough attention when changing the pads on one of my rides and somehow managed to put the pad with the wear indicator on the outside of the rotor rather than the inside as it should be. As a result the pedal was very, very soft and even with it near the...

    Bouncy Speedometer Needle?

I'm having this happen but it's actually the speedometer itself. I swapped out an old unit because the trip odometer didn't work (speed and regular odometer did). The unit I installed just needle-bounces in the mornings and won't read over 25 mph until the interior/dash warm up during the...

Excellent post and information, thanks much for reposting it here for us. I've already saved it for future reference.

    Dirt stuck in taillight? ideas?

Hot water would definitely be the safer route to go. Tried the oven with one of mine which was really gummed up inside with gunk, ended up tossing it as I let it get too warm. Called it a "Learning Experience", cussed a fair amount and decided that there had to be less risky ways to do it.

Front lower control arm bushings ONLY?

So in your opinion is it worthwhile to just replace the bushings for a strictly road car, or a waste of time in that they'll get messed up so quickly under normal driving conditions? My '88 is a DD, and needs either new bushings or new arms.

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

I'm gonna have to find someone to rework my diff. The car sat for a touch over 5 years, so the seals are shot and leak. And either the clutches are shot or the fluid is bad (or some combination of factors) as I only have traction off one side at a time. Any idea what kind of price I'd be...

Anyone still make brand new carpets for us??

There used to be an Ebay source for Supra MkIII-logo mats, but they've not been listed for quite a while now. I'm still trying to find another source for them and will post it here if I come up with anything.
