I believe he was implying that he needs money to get his car dyno'd, lol...
In for a bit of explanation on how your boost is throughout the gears and rpm range
Wow this is pretty neat stuff. Curious though, as I haven't seen it throughout the entire thread, but whats the max boost you see with this turbo?
And make sure to get vids of the dyno!
You have to get the brackets for your specific car. DriftMotion sells em, just select pre89 or 89+. And my Soarer 1j was rear sump, just look at it. Or if you haven't bought it yet, call them and ask which sump it is.
You'll want to go standalone on that. Supporting fuel mods (injectors, rail, pumps), cams, and as for the turbo, I haven't really looked at whats come out in the past 6 months or so. But I know Driftmotion sells a 67mm turbo that will get you to 500hp and reliably. They may even have the entire...
Ah I see, yeah that's all I needed to know. I assume it will throw a code if left disconnected because that is why Brad (te72) even hooked his up. If it still throws a code with no vacuum attached, I'll just get a T and hook it up. Thanks for the help
Well I wasn't sure if it was for anything other then the factory boost gauge or not. Sorry, I'm not following, what do you mean everything would be sluggish if it did? If what did what?
As long as your goals are not crazy high (like 700hp) you should be fine on stock internals. The 2j has a bullet proof bottom end. As for which turbo, it all depends on what your goals are and how much you want to spend on supporting mods.
Ya I found the sensor, just wondering two things though. Is the pressure sensor used solely for the factory boost gauge? And if it is, will I still throw a code if its plugged in but the nipple is just capped (like its reading neutral pressure 24/7)?
You can use a jzz30 AT ecu with the R154. So I would pick those up if I were you. Plus, stickied in this section you'll see a write up on how to wire the jzz30 harness to your car.
Found this on some forum.
Check your vin for these, and then you'll know.
