Yeah I understand what you mean. I have some experience with rebuilds, but I also have access to the shop at my school and my instructor is an ase certified master tech so he could help me as well.

Ok, thanks John. I was going to do front and rear main seals anyway, but the turbo seals won't be a problem since i'm just going with a single, and going to have Aaron from driftmotion replace the capacitors before the problems start. Just hoping that my bad luck doesn't carry over to jz series...

Well it doesn't matter for me now since the car literally just got a bhg, but it had a 60-1 with hard ic pipes and fmic running only stock boost without a tune. It had a lot of blow by coming from the ports on the valve covers though when I looked at it closer.

What are the "right tools" you are talking about? Just a valve spring compressor, and this adapter for the compressed air trick? I'm probably going to end up doing this really soon and don't want to take the head off since it has a new hg with arps. Thanks.
