What fan clutch setup are you running? I want to run a fan clutch with my Koyo but I don't know what fan clutch to use. How is it with the stock radiator and fan clutch?

I was using a 2jzgte clutch and fan but it went through my radiator last month. It did fit fine but make sure you have a shroud or else it wont cool right. Also had to get longer studs for the water pump at my local hardware store so that the fan cleared the water neck. I dont know why it wouldnt so we shimmed it out. Since it went through the radiator I just put electric fans on and said for get it. I got 2 14" zirgo fans and Im hooking them up this weekend so hopefully those will work well.

Ok so if i'm swapping a 2J into my mk3, and I don't want to use a clutch fan. I don't have to change the water pump, i only have to get the electric fans correct?

Hmmm well honestly I dont know that answer...but think of it this way, you have the motor out of the car spend the $200 and do your timing belt and water pump. But switch it to the USDM spec cause if you dont and your pump does go out you then have to pull the motor and put in the whole USDM pump anyways cause you wont be able to find a hydrofan anywhere that is new.

Alright Update time...

The first turbo has been going out so I'm preparing for the single swap.
The turbo that I am getting used to be a 60-1 but I am having it converted to a 67mm turbo by my friend who works at a Aerospace machine shop. We ordered a 67mm wheel from Garrett along with a new ptrim wheel. The hot side is a .70 divided housing with a S cover on the Inlet. Here is pics of the turbo being cut.

I also picked up a used LC-1 and bought the new sensor for it. As for parts the divided manifold is in the mail and the the down pipe has already showed up. I also installed a RFL BOV and finished the 3inch mandrel bent cat back.

Thank you! over all cost to swap it over was 300 dollars, figured that is better than paying 1200 for a new 67mm

Ah. Well when you get it working let me know. From the way I understand it, you can raise fuel cut but keep it in place (say raise it to 18psi... you hit 18psi and you hit fuel cut). It's like the HKS but I believe the HKS effectively eliminates f/c

Update time:

Finished my single swap about two weeks ago and the T67 is feeling great at 14lbs, Here are pics of the install. Im also working on putting in a competition clutch stage 3 ceramic disc before SILV as well as touching up some areas in the engine bay that need to be resprayed. I also got new tires for the whole car, I originally had Falken 452 Fronts: 245/35/18 Backs: 265/35/18 and I now went with same brand but did Fronts: 245/40/18 and Backs: 275/40/18 and the ride is considerably smoother with the side wall change. You can see in the pics that the throttle body has the traction control delete and the water neck was shortened so that the fan does not need to be shimmed away from the motor.

Also have a cast elbow coming in the mail that will be welded to the compressor housing because the silicone couplers cant handle the heat and burn through about every 500 miles. Lastly I ordered all the material to do a full 3'' SS exhaust system, but sadly the materials wont be here in time for me to make the system before Silv, so Ill be on my old crappy system. :nono:
