That would be terrible! Yet very funny! The worst practical joke I've done is drip some coolant on the gound under the engine bay in random places. Did it several times over 2 or 3 weeks. He would take things apart and check gaskets, clamps, etc constantly trying to find the leak. Finally I...
I had a similar issue and it turned out to be the air flow meter. If you have an extra, or a buddy that has one, swap it out and see if that fixes the problem.
Make sure you install the throw-out bearing properly. I've seen the bearing installed upside down and when you install the snap rings around the collar for the clutch fork it sits differently thus does not let the clutch fully release. Causing the same issue you have now. Been there, done...
I may have missed it, but has anyone mentioned the possibility of a bad starter solenoid? Jack up the car, disconnect the smaller wire from the starter.. then get a test light and attach it to the wire and find a good ground. Have a buddy hit the ignition and see if your test light...
My thoughts exactly. I took the fuse box apart and replaced that wire with a slightly thicker gauge wire and made it a little longer than original. Best of luck.
Well, I don't think my user name was Deleted because I can still log in. I just can't do anything at all. Can't post, can't look at some threads, nothing. Oh well, I don't really care that much, just wanted to know the reason.
Well I'm certainly glad to hear I'm not the only one in this situation. I do much prefer surpamania over supraforums. I just like to check out builds and read some of the outrageous claims and shit talking. It's amusing to me.
SupraCentral - Thanks for the help, keep me posted on your...
Greetings all. Forgive me for starting a thread about a different forum, but I have a problem. I realize I'm not exactly a "frequent flyer" either on here, or any other forum any more. I just don't have the time any more and have somewhat lost interest in my Supra project (which is awaiting...
I plan on it. Right now I'm taking a break from it. Been on it since 9am, time for a breather. Hoping to have most prep and hopefully edging done today. then tomorrow I can go over my prep and spray the car.
So again, it's been a while since I've posted but here recently I've stepped it up quite a bit! Have to get ready for Indy2K10 and Chi2K10!
Here's what I've been up to!
That's it so far. This weekend I plan to paint the car. We'll see how that goes! (Nervous..) There's a...
Yes, I'm curious as well to see if that was actually the problem. I'm 99% sure it is, just want the satisfaction of knowing I was right :) j/k. Let us know if that was actually the problem!!
Check the intercooler hose coming off the turbo. Those are notorious for cracking from the heat down there by the manifold. I'll bet it split, and if you look around it, it likely has a bunch of tiny cracks in it. Either need to replace that hose (good luck finding a good one) or its time for...
Well what I was putting in question was if the connector at the ECU was different I thought there were a couple subtle differences. But I mis-read part way through the thread, my mistake. Disregard my earlier post.
I thought there were two wires different on the 89+ ecu? A couple of transposed wires on the ecu plug its self. Maybe I'm mistaken? Not trying to deter or freak anyone out, just trying to prevent damage. As I said though, maybe I'm mistaken.
Hey stranger!
I went through two or three stock valves a few years back, thay always broke and were stuck open. I went with a 1st gen DSM valve then when I upgraded turbos I went with an HKS Race type II. Best valve I've EVER had hands down. Expensive piece but well worth it.
Wow, it has been a while since any posts on here! I guess I need to step it up and get to work. I've been putting a lot of time in at work and spending more time with my wife. Not to mention its F*$%ng cold out and a pain in the ass to get the garage warm, despite the fact that I have a...
I had a HX35 on my Supra provided by Jon (MDC) (see my avatar). It was a great turbo, but it did in fact require an oil restrictor. It was fine unless you went over 3000 rpm then it would smoke like MAD! Put the restrictor in it and problem solved! The turbo spooled ridiculously fast and...
