Wheel Question: Milling hubs to increase offset?

Of course there are spacers to decrease offset, but what if you want to take a set of wheels and increase offset? Safety concerns aside (I wouldnt be ignoring them, just leaving that out of this question for now) has anyone ever looked into it? Anyone know anyone who has done it or knonw where to get it done. Online searches revealed nothing, so Im going to call a few machine shops that specialize in wheels if I can find one, but thought I would see if anyone here knows anything about it.

I've seen it done before, where they milled down the mounting face of the wheel. It wouldn't be that hard, with the most important thing being getting the wheel level.
The thing I would be most concerned with is having enough material between the mounting face and the bottom of the taper for the lugnuts. Most aftermarket wheels that are designed for acorn lug nuts are already are kinda close to the limit for safety, especially for toyotas, since the studs are already kind of short. If the wheels were designed to take lug nuts that are the same style as toyota lug, it would be less of an issue.

thats a good point. I didnt really think of the back of a self-locating lug. That would be a thin spot probably.

The reason I asked this was I was really interested in a 17x9 +24 and if I didnt like the fit I was hoping to have a possble solution other than just re-selling em.

There's not a lot of material there to start with, an alternative but NOT cheap would be to get discs that mount behind the Hub.

Well after further investigation I have concluded that the +24 offset on a 17x9 will fit the way I want it. So Im gonna go ahead and try em out. Worst case is I have to pass em on to someone else. Should be too hard for what Im paying for em.
