What cars make kids think they are fast?

Gah! You're making me look up things on the internet that I care nothing about. The Edsel came with either a 361 ci engine putting out 303hp and 400tq, or in the case of the one I knew, the 410 ci engine putting out 345hp and 475tq.

Domestic cars hold no interest for me... I have no idea what engines ford, chevy, or anyone else have traditionally manufactured.

in my town its all the kids in their parents auids and volvos. and a jeeps......dont ask me why, but most all the kids that own jeeps in my town drive like fucking maniacs...in fact i got raced by a jeep in my n/a. beat it of course. o ya and a plethora of talons and early eclipses.

I had 4 kids in a turbo V8 volvo? (it looked like a V8, and said turbo), I'm not
sure. I was driving Parvin's 420rwhp MKII at the time. Now with his six puck
clutch, and lightwieght flywheel it's hard to leave the light easy... So I kinda
bogged a bit, and did a quick short shift to 2nd (putting me at like 1500rpm.)

They laughed out the window and pointed as they started to drive away from
me (it was an automatic). I just floored it at 1500rpm in 2nd and waited.
When they got about 3 car lengths on me when the turbo started kicking in
so I quickly shifted to 3rd (where the car actually hooks the power to the
ground). I then slingshotted past them like they were standing still and then
shifted to 4th, and gently let off. When we stopped at the next light, the
kids on my side were like WTF?! is that. I said it's a 85 Supra.

What the hell is done to that?!?!

Me: it's stock.

ok a little off topic,but still kinda on.this friend of mine has a 94 or something civic sohc non vtec,turbo, intake, and exhaust.i have a 87 turbo supra(of course,lol)intake and 3 in. catback.both 5 spd.does he have a chance.i'm thinking he does with weight differences.but not sure. and were both pretty good drivers.

Might be that Mitsubishi turbocharger helping it breathe. And for the record, the Syclone/Typhoon are anything but reliable.

I remeber the old Escorts, like the EXP and GT. Yep, kids drove it like it was a 911 or something. Even my 20R powered 80 Celica GT would lay the smack down.

And my 91 Supra is no match for my old 5.0 Mustang. But it will be.

here in calgary we don't have super nice cars but there are plenty of riced out neons and cavilers and of course everyones favorite mustangs. the only thing worse then the riced neons are the riced neons that think they are driving a sports car and try hunting supras haha not even worth the gas

On the flip side of this coin. My DD right now, until my 1JZ swap is complete, is my '86 AE86 Corolla GT-S and just about every kid in this town that has watched Initial D or reads about them in magazines thinks it's the fastest thing on the road and are constantly chellenging me to races. I'm like, "I have maybe 100hp (if I'm lucky) in my 1.6L engine, there are minivans that will beat this car!!!"

Here there are a lot of doctors kids, etc that have fast TA's, camaros, a few cobras, a couple 16 yr old c6 owners etc. A lot of 6 cylinder mustang and camaros with SS bodykits trying to look cool, Neon, Sunfires, Civics all of that are bad around here, a lot of them talking crap, and for some reason four door integras? wtf

something funny i forgot to mention in my first post... my friends first car was a ford tarus waggon (his moms old car), and when he would come upon a ricer he would rev his engine and taunt them. most of the time the little civic or eclipse would take the bait. the tarus had a 4.6 letre engine and it usualy wasted them.

one nite, a mustang gt stoped beside us at a light, and we decided to taunt him as we usualy did. the light turned green and the stupid mustang stalled it! lmfao! it was great.
