Hey everyone!!

I havs a 89NA that I am transplanting the engine from an 88T into. I know the intercooler is different on the 89 but what are the differences in the piping between the 2 years? The 88 has all the piping so I was wondering what pieces were different.

Thanks!!

There are minor differences where the piping meets the intercooler. As long as you have the entire system from the 88, piping and intercooler, it will fit just fine.

Learning: what's the minor difference?

Grim thanks for the info. This is a typical example of some of the mis-comunication on the board....:)

I knew there were some differences from everthing I read and the EPC's were very helpful in showing them.

You guys are a great help.

Thanks!!

Just wondering if this was a mistype or something, but I read 89 N/A and 88 turbo. From what I know an 89 N/A doesnt have an intercooler and definately not as much piping as an 88 turbo....

He's swapping the 7M-GTE into the 89 N/A, but has intercooler piping from an 88.

Which is fine by the way, 88 had the same I/C piping as 89+, only 87 was different.

The intercooler has an extra bend built into it, so the IC piping is minus one bend.

Yep Grim is correct. The 89+ has a extra 90 degree bend built into the "cold" side of the Intercooler.

Pete your fine ;)
