TS Fay Flooding pics from Melbourne/Palm Bay

Its been windy and raining non stop here (melbourne/palm bay FL) for 2 days, over 20 inches of rain fall.. and now flooding. I was bored so drove around and got some pics.

From having our normal afternoon rain showers (usually dump and inch or two) for the past month, the ground is saturated with water, and its not like we dont have the proper drainage setup for a lot of rain fall.. We have many many canals, and ditches everywhere to move the water around.. They're just full

Filled over the top, and this canal was probably 20 feet deep and 50 feet wide.

Theres a big canal, probably 75 feet deep and 100-150 feet wide, and its full

lucky, its been non stop rain since about 12am on tuesday. At least we havn't lost power at all.

edit: i lied it did stop ~ 1-2 am last night (wed) when the eye passed over.

Theres been more flooding from this storm then we had with all 3 storms a few years back, and they were back to back within 2 monhts

I live just north of you in Viera and it was bad. Not as bad as you guys down there. Its funny cuz up in Canaveral Groves there is very little flooding compared to down south.

We flood here alot usually 4 or five times a year twice I have had to goto into town and sandbag to keep downtown from flooding

Last year Interstate 5 ( Mexico to Canada) was totally underwater for a week

Just goto google and type in Skagit River flood

We got flooded down here too, a lot of trees down which surprised me due to it only being a tropical storm. Think the highest wind gust in Naples was 69mph.

Been raining all day here in Gainesville, just had to help our neighbor get a huge tree out of his driveway...the tree blew out of the ground (no serious winds though) from our yard and into his driveway, I think the water finally uprooted the bitch.
