I have to replace my TPS. We tested it at the ECU to check the wiring and at the throttle body and off the car, and the reading were intermitant. I have another TPS here that checks out fine but it is 90* rotated from the one on my car. Is it an NA TPS?

Thanks

Yeah, if you've got the old throttle body, you can just swap that part in there, that contacts the TPS. It's only held on by one nut. I did it on mine when I thought I had a bad TPS.

I'll quote Jeff Lange on the tps's as he was kind enough to straiten it all out:

While there are only 2 different types of TPS used on the MA70, they were not always the same between N/A and GTE, and they did not change for the 89 model.

89452-28030 = 86.5 - early 87 7M-GE and 87 - early 89 7M-GTE (Replaced by 89452-20050)
89452-14050 = late 87 - 92 7M-GE and late 89 - 92 7M-GTE

The changeover for the 7M-GE was 11/86, for the 7M-GTE it was 03/89.

i installed it the same way as it was into the n/a. I had to look at the marks letf by the srew but i eneded up changing it back to the gte tps

You gotta adjust it correctly, either by the TSRM, or the way I've seen posted here, but I don't remember the exact procedure. If you don't adjust it right, it will run like shit. Just eyeballing it ain't gonna cut it.

and if i rewire the tps plug will the n/a tps will work in the gte ecu ??:1zhelp::1zhelp:

You don't rewire, you change that thingy in the throttle body, it's held on by one nut, and a washer. It's oriented for the TPS. Look at the picture.

On a similar note, I thought I would ask while your thinking TPS. Are their other cars TPS sensors that will fit our cars? Im running standalone. Just wanted to know if there are sensors that fit the bolt pattern for lack of a better phrase.
