I have seen those before. No oil in her yet so I might add that to the list.

Last update this weekend, going to order some parts and get back on her next weekend.

Made this egr block off plate since I'm going standalone. Had some 3/8 thick aluminum left over from a manifold project on my Impreza. Saves me some $$ on delete plates. Working on a manifold plate now that I will tap as another boost/vacuum source if needed.

Valve cover gaskets are work in progress. Will get some stainless bolts tomorrow to replace the factory bolts. Also confirmed that the arp bolts that the previous owner installed. Checked the torque while I was in there.

Thanks! The dealership I work at renovated the entire building so all the old lifts were available on the super cheap. Paid $500 for that bad boy!

-Valve covers with stainless bolts
-Manifold and adapter installed

Mocked up the turbo for you guys and start to visualize the down pipe. Will be tight with the heater hoses but I can make it work.

I'm not sure if the exhaust housings are available aftermarket like the hx35, but you might look into a short outlet exhaust housing to make fitting a downpipe easier.

Looks great so far man

Thanks Sheedy. I can get a he351 flange, will be here Friday. Which is a 4 3/8 vband. No one makes a housing for the he351, at least that will help my issue. The housing is pretty straight forward, no plated vband like I have seen other holsets with.

My plan is to shorten that heater hose which will raise that bend up about 2 inches to help the clearance. Will get some heat wrap on the heater hose and also ordered some for the down pipe as well. I think as long as I have a 3/4"-1" inch of clearance from the hose I'll feel comfortable.

The trouble when I was making the ct26-t3 adapter was that I couldn't go any lower because I wouldn't have room for the hosing bolts or dump tube. I was afraid to go higher and have clearance issues with the hood and keep room for intercooler pipe, didn't want it to look too ridiculous either. The compressor is so big that when I twisted the turbo to favor the downpipe, the compressor would touch the strut tower.

I was in the same boat than you with HE531VE, basially same as your but with variable gate at turbine exhaust.
Finally, after searching solutions for turbine housing intake/exhaust, I've decided to make it modded, welding 3" v-band and T4 flange to it. A welding shop will do this in a couple of week for me.

Cut up the eBay down pipe. Will work better than I planned. All I will need to do it weld the 4 3/8 holset vband and extend the vertical section a few inches. Great way to save me some $$.

Done for this week until I get some parts.

Flex section is a true 3" too.

I have to say that this is the cleanest MK3 I've ever seen. And I've been owning supra's since 1998. The stance and look makes me want to finish my 87. Hope to see this thing at some of the Enfield meets.

Hey.

very clean build so far ;)

Did you decide abou the paint on manifold covers yet? I was thinking about this as well and decided to go dark silver. I think it looks very nice - gives this fresh stock-ish appearance.

in pic they're dirty and unfortunattely i have only this 1 pic but you can get the idea how it would look for you.

that looks very nice Janch! i decided to go with the black.

I have a thing for a black/polished or chrome look right now.

How did you shine the intake manifold?

yeah black and chrome goes well together.

First i spent hours on polishing with hand..... I'll never do it again :D then i painted it with chrome finish paint out of spraying can - comes out very nice.

Got some good pics for everyone. Few questions along with them.

- Is this the AC fan? I have 1 push fan, 1 pull fan.
- Experiences with BOV? Has anyone experienced recirculating vs non on their own car. The noise does not matter to be, looking at the Bosch OEM 110 part number one.
- would like opinion on the intercooler too :)

Now here is the intercooler I'm thinking of going with
80f77537bc52c089097eccce4b4c2f4e.jpg

^^ the right side I will cut off the hole and rotate it to be parallel with the fins. The left side I will keep and route in front of the belts for a FFIM. (Personal taste against long IC pipe)

The thickness is what I am after, but do you think it will be to short length wise? The front grill is SO long that I would like to utilize all the air flow but I can't find anything long enough to fill the entire bumper, short enough where there is no wasted space behind the beam and thick enough to be efficient and flow well. I think I might go for this intercooler but I would like opinion from people who have experienced with ICs first.

Yes but not only. These are auxiliary fans, can be triggered by climate control or sensors on t-stat housing.
A70 can have differents configurations: 1 puller ; 1 pusher 1 puller ; 2 pullers ; 1 pusher 2 pullers, depending on A/C, transmission, turbo, and region.

- Experiences with BOV? Has anyone experienced recirculating vs non on their own car. The noise does not matter to be, looking at the Bosch OEM 110 part number one.
On A/T supras, no recircuating can lead on engine stall at stop after a pull. On M/T supras, it's not as critical as you reengage the clutch or use engine brake.
I have a Bosch BPV I won't use

I've had both on auto supra. Its as Rollus said before. Atmospheric BOV will lead on stalling very often if you dont run aftermarket ECU and non stock AFM sensor. Then i was running Bosch 110 recirculated on supra with stock air box - didnt really notice much difference in sound, then i put same BOSCH 110 on eclipse with aftermarket airfilter (also recirculated) and damn it was loud, so air filter makes huge difference. It has this loud pshhhhh sound - but i guess sound also depends on boost level you're running.
