Those first gen airbags can mess you up. I had one go off, and I've been punched in the face before but this was worse. It pushed my bottom lip through my clenched teeth and cut shreds in it. I was bleeding a little worse than you were. Glad to see your healing up fast.

I've only seen airbags do that to people when they weren't wearing seatbelts. Usually it's just friction burns on the inside of your arms.
